That's your opinon and you're entitled to it.:good I see several fighters at 135 that would give Chavez fits namely, PBF, Duran and Pea. PBF isn't a guy that will fade as the fight goes into the late rounds he's a throwback 15 round fighter who gets stronger as the fight goes. Not to mention you severly underrate PBF's toughness and act as if he'll quit when nothing in his career has ever suggested it even when fighting on several occassions with broken hands or bruised ribs. JCC is ATG no question about it, I think that a boxer like PBF especially at 130-135 would fustrate the hell out of Chavez because he wouldn't be landing on him as much and he would get fustrated by his speed and movement. He'll get tired of getting hit 3 times to land 1 against a guy who won't fade or fight his fight like he's accustomed to.
I rate Chavez a lot lower in terms of ATG status than most in the General Forum would actually. If you believe Mayweather, who struggled with guys like Hatton, Judah, Jesus Chavez, Castillo, old Oscar(while a past prime version of Pea did just as well against a prime Oscar), had a better defense or was a better fighter than Pea, than by all means, do so. Just don't expect those of us with any sort of knowledge to agree with you.
a southpaw at 147. do you know how different his style is to Floyds or are you assuming its the same technique because its called DEFENSE? People who followed Chavez will admit to this defeat , yet Pea waited till the right time to engage with Chavez. Is it a coincidence that Chavez drew with pea and lost to Randell almost back to back?
In all fairness he didn't struggle against Hatton. How many rounds did Hatton win? He didn't struggle with Zab who won no more tha 3 rounds in that fight he split the first 4 and won the 12th. He was toying with Jesus Chavez and allowed him to punch himself out beautiful strategy I might add. Oscar won no more tha 4 rounds in that fight which was PBF's first fight at 154 a weightclass he had no business at. PBF has only really struggled in one fight his whole career and that's JLC 1 and he was injured going into it. This guy has beaten 95% of the fighters he's faced with ease.
says the guy with pea as his avatar and screen name. whatever man. Pernell was an ATG and a truly gifted fighter. floyd is on that same level. THE SAME EXACT ****ING LEVEL. AS IN, IF THEY FOUGHT IT WOULD BE PEA WINNING SOME, FLOYD WINNING SOME. That being said, Pernell beat JCC so Floyd would do the same. The difference between you and me is that you really think JCC would beat floyd, because of your bias with pernell which you seem to want to make better than floyd for some reason. And when the **** did floyd struggle against Hatton? Also, Pernell struggled with fighters too. I remember him hitting the deck one too many times. Or did you forget that?
Stop posting now ! Whitaker`s defence was far superior to Floyd`s & Chavez reached 87-0 before the 1st blemish vs Whitaker.
Thats good you reminded my bout that fight. DIDn't he get dropped that fight, although it wasn't an official one" :rofl
What is JCC's best shot? Straight right? No way he is hitting floyd with that. I dont ever remember any fighter hitting floyd with that.
Hatton was pretty much even money through the first 5 or 6 rounds before Floyd started to pick him off. Another example of Floyd having to adapt to lesser fighters, something Pernell never had to do against any level of fighter. That's one of the main differences between the two. I also had Zab winning 3 of the first 4 rounds and the 12th, therefore winning 4 rounds overall. As far as Chavez, he was leading on Lederman's cards by the time Floyd stopped him, and even if Floyd was picking him off, he wasn't do it as impressively as Pea or Jones would've a fighter of that caliber. Again, that's the main difference between Floyd and other P4P champs like the aforementioned Jones and Whitaker. And I only had Mayweather beating Oscar by a point.
prime example of these old ass has been posters who are still living in the past. get over it man. And this is why i hate these ****ing hypothetical matches. Nobody can be proven wrong. Why wasnt this **** posted in the classics forum anyways?

dont even try to argue with these fools man. Pernell hit the deck way more than floyd, yet he has better defense. nuff said you ****ers.
