Considering that Hagler was never hurt, I doubt it. Come to think of it, I cannot conceive of a WORSE matchup for Pavlik, out of every middleweight who ever lived, than Hagler.

I guess you conveniently ignore the fact that he knocked out most of the contenders he faced. :think

Hearns left hand was not as HEAVY quote unquote. But it was a million times faster and more accurate making his right hand more effective when it came behind the jab. Unlike the slow 1,2 that Pavlik lands on the wide open left hand in his pocket JT and Edison(I dont know the meaning of defense)Miranda.

No, it isn't. Being short has other advantages, which are quite obvious to everyone except you. Evasiveness, inside and midrange fighting ability, lower center of gravity in clinches...

You're not Valuev by any chance...?

Out of interest how do you think a 6'10" Lewis would have fought?

Hagler is the one guy that has every advantage against Pavlik. What is pavlik going to do when Hagler gets in his mug where pavliks power shots all of sudden are not powerful as they were when a guy is on the tail extension end of them...Huh..I wonder.....

Like a taller version of a 6'5" Lewis, with more clinching, more jabbing, and fans nearly comatose from boredom. He might also lack the frame to generate the same concussive power, so he could be our era's Ernie Terrell.

Yeah, but Pavlik has height. Height is an advantage. Unlike Hagler, who has no advantages. Therefore, Pavlik wins.

Just as I thought, so his 'average' height was actually an advantage then?

I was just remembering an excerpt from Thomas Hausers book when Ali was supposed to fight 7'2" Wilt Chamberlain, that's all :yep

Yep. There's a point beyond which it's unwise to go in human height for boxing. :good

 Unlike you I dont haved to take anything out of context or attribute you to saying something you didnt ! read my posts and I clearly state HAGLER poses as many prblems for PAV as PAV poses for him ! Like his southpaw stance chin and his own heavy hands ect ! :yep Yes your getting pathetic !:tired

The problem is that you're not counting up HOW MANY advantages each fighter has. Hagler has a better chin, more skill, more speed, a VASTLY better record, great power, and the fact that he destroyed any fighter who was similar to Pavlik.

Pavlik has height and hits hard.

 because HAGLERs advantages are obvious and I was defending PAVLIK and making light of what he brings to the table ! :good And the fact that HAGLER didnt have ALL THE ADVANTAGES ! Funny thing is TAYLOR had plenty of advantages also ! Like HEARNS had advantages in speed power and height over HAG ! Somtimes it doesnt matter and the intangables must be judged !

Yes, he brings a few advantages to the table. Considering he's a world champion, that's obvious. He just doesn't bring ENOUGH to the table to avoid getting steamrolled...that's what I'm saying. :good
