Why do you think this would get into the second round. Seriously, We haven't seen prime Pavlik yet so we don't know. But present Pavlik v Prime hagler, an early KO of Pavlik.
Pavlik's got a long way to go before he's fit for decent mention in a match like this. Give him time and see what develops.
I don't understand why people are taking Hagler for the first or second round ko. Lets not forget that Hagler didn't have any devastating power and he preferred to actually box. Not to mention Pavlik has a good chin imo. Hagler ko10
I've said this numerous times. This myth of Marvin Hagler being an aggressive brawler has become quite annoying. I've read numerous clowns proclaiming "Hagler always come forward and never backed up ever!!!" Floyd Mayweather was more aggressive in his fights against southpaws and also versus Philip Ndou. My, let's start callling Mayweather an aggressive fighter who generally liked to come forward and who got stunned or bruised up in the majority of his fights!! Why, Mike Tyson couldn't stop Mitch Green, Razor Ruddock without the help of a quick stoppage, Tony Tucker, or James Tillis. I guess Tyson wasn't much of a puncher!!
I said "devastating power"; as in one punch ko power. Show me some examples please :deal . Hagler WAS NOT a brawler and if he fought Pavlik there is no way he would trade with him looking for the early ko. Aside from the Hearns fight he never showed any Pavlik-like power (and still didn't really in that fight, it took MANY flush punches to take a chinny Hearns out). He wasn't weak by any means but as I stated he wasn't a ko fighter. His high ko percentage was because of his excellent work rate and getting many tko's and stopages. Pavlik has a great chin and theres no way Hagler ko's him in the first or second, thats just silly. He would outbox Pavlik and find him late for the ko.
It's because Pavlik was hurt by Jermain Taylor and was also hurt a little bit by Zertuche. Hagler KO 5
thats what i think mate...but anyway hagler stops kp b4 the 5th and im pretty sure on that...:good :bbb(and im pretty sure it looks ugly...)...
i hope most of these matchups are...pavlik-hagler...come on guys(c people picking pavlik) go watch some tapes
Guys, is it only me or is it not extremely obvious that at age 25 Pavlik is way ahead of Hagler at 25 in both resume and H2H??? Pavlik is undefeated, the recognized middleweight champion and has a freakish KO percentage. Hagler at 25 was a contender and had two losses, he was obvioulsy a late bloomer. Of course right now Pavlik cannot be compared to Hagler, but we simply don't know yet how good he is. We know he has good power, but if he continues his KO winning streak, he might one day be considered the hardest puncher at mw in history. We know he has weaknesses, but so far nobody has been able to take advantage of them to beat him. He ratio of Pavlik's strengths to weaknesses looks pretty good to me right now and within the next 3 - 4 fights, we will know a lot more about his quality. I would wait until then before I dismiss his chances in a fantasy matchup with Hagler or anyone else.
