Rob has a business model in his head that works on planet palmer and nowhere else.

If Primetime fails he'll see it as vindication his model is correct.

    He's *******s.

Primetime have no commitment to boxing though, do they. They're just cashing in on a gap in the market as most businesses do. Although technically doing nothing wrong, Primetime are offering fighters a further chance at getting fights on PPV. If this PPV is succesful it sets a precedent where fighters can say to Sky 'I want to be on PPV' and if they decline then they can say 'I'll go to Primetime then'. So any possible commitment on Sky's behalf to ensure that a whole card is PPV worthy may well be undermined by Primetime.

Khan was in a position of either accepting that his fight is not PPV worthy and taking the pay cut or to cancelling the fight. Primetime have just given him the chance to chrarge PPV prices for a fight that one network has already declined. This just steers us further down the road of PPVs instead of away from it

Saying that, Primetime have shown us some fights we'd have otherwise missed, and they're just as entitled to sell PPVs as anyone else so best of luck to them if this works out - I certainly wouldn't want to see them go under.

  4. I got the same email. I rang them and it appears they had my old debit card information. They updated my details and I purchased the fight there and then. Quite professional I thought.

    True :deal

    Anyway great thread :rofl:rofl

If people are willing to pay £15 though for one half decent fight then that's fine but the quality of future Khan pay per views won't improve much if at all.

I've always found them to be very professional and helpful when I've had to deal with them too

The best phrased argument against Primetime that I have read on here. :good

I do agree with you, but I can't see it setting a precedent in which all fighters will follow in Khan's footsteps. If the PPVs become too common and lacking in quality, especially with the £15 price tag, the consumer simply won't continue to purchase the cards. Khan is fortunate in that he does have a fairly large fanbase, especially in the Muslim community, something that most other boxers cannot replicate.

Having said that, I'm not personally planning on buying this event. I can't see this PPV selling so I don't think this will shift how Sky schedule their PPV events massively.

I've purchased a number of fights on the channel and never had a problem with their customer service. I've always found them polite and helpful. I think most people's negative impressions stem down to the technical mishaps that happened with their Froch-Dirrell broadcast.

Just order it now and then there are no problems. We're not saying you won't get through on the day only that you may be in a queue, if you're going to watch book early!!

Demand is phenomenal but we've still sent out a guy to ensure every last buy from a boxing message board

Well I have called and they have said they will call me back so I will wait and see. Surely though if there is a problem with a persons account it should flag up sooner than the day before the biggest event they have had, or maybe have a website where you can update your details online?
