You don't seem to get to it. FW continue to get PPV cards on SKY because those cards generate enough revenue and buys to meet the standards for what is deemed an acceptable PPV, more so than it would on regular SS. They couldn't give a **** if PUNCHDRUNK from the internet considers it to not meet his standards of what is quality boxing.

Nope, you're spouting ****. There is a clear bias by SKY towards FW which even extends to the clear favoritism shown by the SKY's commentating team to FW fighters e.g. Degale Groves. Strange how HBO base the credibility of a PPV event on the quality of the boxing but here in the U.K its the value of the entertainment :huh

Khan Mcloskey WAS offered a slot on sky 3. Not ppv TK turned it down.

Now from what i understand sky also made a bit for judah, but they didnt think judah was a big enough name so offered sky sports 1. Not ppv TK turned it down.

Now lets be honest, for the average boxing fan out there what would be better, free on sky sports 1 or £15 on primetime?

TK had their opportunity to give thier fighter far greater exposure on sky, and they chose the quick buck.

 

Long term it's not a good idea to make that little extra on primetime and give up on sky sports.

 

That is exactly right. They don't. The majority of the crossover football fans that bloated Hattons fan base made me stop attending his fights through the crap they came out with.

I don't doubt they are biased towards FW, he is the main promoter in the UK and has the majority of the talent. Those commentators and pundits who lick his arse and his fighters do so because they are friends with the guy, or the fighter and also want behind scenes access to his fighters. As you'll often see ringside, them sat next to FW, watching bouts and having a nice chat. I don't like this one bit, but I understand why they do it.

However this does not mean that FW gets a special pass for all his events to be on PPV. Like I said, that is determined on whether he continues to generate the required levels of revenue.

There are no double standards. PPV is not determined by the stature of the fight. i.e. Khan v McCloskey was a world title fight but Groves v De Gale was not. However Groves v De Gale was an easier sell and had more interest.

I said back when Khan fought McCloskey that Sky would not want Khan v bradley on PPV as it being a unification fight means nothing when it comes to people making a decision to buy the PPV. It takes more than a world title being on the line to sell PPV's.

Khan has not been screwed. I'm pretty sure Sky could present TK with the PPV numbers for all of Khan's PPV's on Sky and the reading wouldnt be pretty. The numbers do not lie and the reality is its hard enough to generate major sales for Khan @ UK time let alone a fight at 4am in the morning.

Khan should of been on sky sports from day 1 up until his first fight in america at a minimum. It may of been a slow build especially after the prescott loss but its the only way Khan would of been able to get a much larger fanbase.
