As usual not in HD. Floyd at one stage was listed at 183 cm!! Buncey and co talking over the intro. The commentary was horrendous. If you charge £15 then the product better be worth £15. I hate it when Sky charge £15 and put adverts on. That really gets on my tits! Your thoughts?
Suggest you give up watching ppv boxing.:yep. Stick to x factor a very well produced show that meets all your requirements:good
The commentary was too loud in the mix and you couldn't hear Roger Mayweather in the corner or really get the crowd noise/atmosphere. Thought the studio team was pretty good, to be fair.
I didnt like Amir Khan in the studio, he is far too thick to make it as a pundit. I thought Duke banging on about Mayweather's undefeated record was pure bollocks. I wanted to grab him and shout 'Ray Robinson lost 19 times you thick ****!'. Other than that he irritaed me far less. Buncey was good, I liked getting the websites involved. Andy Kerr as always was class (i really like him anyway). Richardo (whom I dont usually like, wasnt too bad) but Wayne Mc, WOW! He still comes across as rather bitter, with a very boring voice. Overall, i dont think it was too bad, but would have preferred it to have been on sky!
Thanks for the comments guys, we take all feedback on board. I think Benny Ricardo did a great job and having him translate the spanish corners was a huge plus I thought the whole studio team did a fantstic job Thanks to everyone who supported the event!!
I thought the whole coverage was spot on apart from the fact it wasn't in HD. I also don't think the card gave value for money.
The last Primetime card i watched was Froch-Dirrell on the internet stream. I was quite impressed; enjoyed Bunce in the studio with Andy Kerr and i think Duke McKenzie is much better as a pundit than a commentator. I agree with another poster that Amir offers very little as a pundit. After Mayweather-Ortiz, they were saying how Mayweather makes you fight his fight and beats you. When asked how Khan would beat him, he replied "I'd fight Mayweather's fight" which baffled me. After the Morales fight, commenting on how Cano had continued with his horrific cuts, i thought it was underhand by Khan having a dig at McCloskey! He should have mentioned how brave Barrera was fighting after Amir nutted him. Although not HD, i thought the quality was pretty good and i actually enjoyed Benny Ricardo, having never heard him before. As mentioned somewhere else, i didn't think much of McCullouch saying how he wanted to see a Mayweather KO is not what you want from a commentator and his constant chewing of sour grapes during the Morales fight was annoying. All in all i thought the presentation was good and appreciate the budget and experience isn't at the level of Sky but Primetime seem to be closing the gap.
I enjoyed the coverage, but to be honest the the studio set up is a bit flat, it would be great if yer could get Paul Dempsey (Sky/Setanta) on board as lead presenter as he's a class act full of enthusiasm & chock full of boxing knowledge & a good balance for bunce, but yer've got to get some more pundits on there who have more than a glimmer of a pulse.
We did have some technical issues at the start of the free coverage but fortunately these were all cleared up for the main ppv coverage at 2am. Sorry about that
I thought the studio was great, especially with Buncey!.... Khan was the right man to have there; big name appeal and had some kind of connection to every fight on the card.
