    It really was **** poor.

Can someone tell me why when Sky show HBO pictures for a £15 PPV event it is crystal clear and in HD if you have the HD service, yet when Primetime show HBO pictures for the same money it's not even on par with standard definition pictures on the rest of the channels?

Is it possible to get HBO here? I'd happily pay for it!

Its because they are cheap the bitrate used is very low.

Premier sports had the same issues before they were subscription. Watching NRL was painful as the picture quality was worse than a dodgy internet stream.

It was 5mbit/s which is excellent for SD.

Problem was that some dope forgot to flick the switch from off air 480x576 sub SD resolution to Primetime's usual broadcast SD resolution 640x576( which is typically way better than the 544x576 @ 3mbit/s sky Box Office SD uses). The Kahn V Mcloskey fight was quite reasonable SD and 2 ( of god knows how many) repeats of the Kahn Judah fight have been reasonable too.

but for the money Primetime should at least have leased some extra transponder space for the weekend, and put this up in HD!!
