After having screwed up every PPV event they have ever held. They get handed a golden chance by Amir Khan coming to them with months notice for a PPV against Zab Judah... Practically no advertising, posting on BOXING FORUMS in order to get buys rather than actually marketing to the general public, giving away free t-shirts on the internet.. wasting 8 weeks pinning their hopes that on channel 5, 5 hours before the fight, on a FREE TO AIR channel, that those watching who do have SKY/Cable will pay £17.45 and stay up till 3am... all because of a couple of advertisements... Then come fight night, not having learnt from their past ****ups.. they undergo the usual ordering failure fiasco.. http://www.badlefthook.com/2011/7/23/2289985/khan-vs-judah-primetime-ppv-ordering Which they are probably going to blame on the results, not the fact that it wasn't going to sell **** all from the beginning and that's why SKY didn't touch it, and they are now wondering why the buys were so bad... Thank you Primetime for giving me huge amounts of entertainment the last few weeks with your amateur operations, especially last night and today, hilarious stuff. I'm now making use of the break and going on a nice holiday for a few week, good luck at work on Monday. :yep:hi: To the rest of you enjoy watching Khan on SKY in December... if Barney lets them
Why the bitterness? It's a shame, because i think Sky's boxing gets a lot of abuse for doing little wrong (the budget it not great, so i understand its hard to get US cards). Maybe you should be thanking them. If the numbers are low (which i assume they will be) Khan will come running back to you guys. Then it'll be your choice if you have him back after he ditched Sky three times in 4 fights.
Been away for a week and yesterday I had to delete 5 ****ing Amir Khan personal messages from Primetime on my landline. Thats 10mins of my life I will never get back
i thought it was very good Great job from Andy Kerr :good interviews with B-Hop and Calzaghe, Calzaghe's laugh just cracked me up, can any1 find a link to it:yep And unlike sky they didnt cut out Max Kellerman which was good Benny Ricardo is a commentating Godfather, great to listen to :deal Well done Primetime
Sky burnt their bridges with Khan, face it there are NO PPV fighters at Sky and that is a great thing - just focus on putting on quality cards for the ****in subs that I already pay each month, alright.:good *Enjoy your holiday you bitter wee man
Wee Andy is a legend. How was Wayne McCullough - was he a pundit or co-commentator - that psuedo-yank accent of his makes my toes curl though...
I didnt like Wayne. Thought he used it mainly as a chance to try pimp himself out to promoters. Their sound work was terrible, could hear the bell ringing at ringside in the middle of rounds, could hear ring announcers in middle of rounds. As for actually trying to order the fight, absolute disaster. The thread title is very accurate to describe the people answering the phones. Well either amateurs or ******s. Either is a possibility
I dont personally like Benny Ricardo, find him a bit brash. Its a fledgling channel, we are not going to get the sky type productions we are perhaps used to, it did the job last night, and having Kerr doing the interviews was the best bit.
The guy I got on the phone was a snidey wee *****, his attitude was terrible. The actual show was not too bad but the implementation and customer service is ****ing disgraceful. I'm not asking for much, just a clear cut way of telling whether I have actually ordered the fight or not. There isnt even a button to register an account on their website, complete and utter ****** operation.
why:think i think hes great ''Wow we im working with a MD'' ''MBE it stands for..........'' ''Wow, what an hounor, MBE and 2 divison world champion'' (off camera Duke holds up 3 fingers) ''Er...3 division world champ'' quality
