Valuev wasnt any bigger than impelliterie. I cant believe you seriously believe that Haye might go undefeated against Loughran's opposition. That may be quite possible the worst statement i have ever hear on these boards and i dont even think you realise how stupid that comment is. Not only did Loughran face better fighters, he also fought bigger fighters! Tunney, Sharkey, Walker, Baer, Greb, Risko, Schaaf, Carnera. vs Harrrison, Ruiz, Valuev, Mormeck, Barrett, Macarenelli, Wlad and of course Carl Thompson Gee i wonder if any of Loughran's opponents might be able to do what Carl Thompson did?
I'd actually give Loughran a great chance of going unbeaten against Haye's opposition until facing Wladimir Klitschko. Mormeck with his 3 round stamina? A washed up terror of middleweights John Ruiz? Valuev?
He looks like **** and is fighting a guy 84 pounds lighter. Is there a reason for weight divisions or should they just be abolished?
He fought bigger fighters he fought about 1 guy why couldn't make 200lbs today You whole post is bias, Haye was as green as grass against Thompson and only lost after punching himself out throwing 100punches a round Loughran's competition was pretty average aside from the LHWs Greb/Tunney who were tiny in comparison, Sharkey, Baer, Carnera - none of them that good, maybe on par with a prime Ruiz or the Mormeck Haye beat :smoke
Loughran fought 6'6, 270 pound Primo Carnera, 6'7, 255 pound Ray Impellittiere, 6'9, 235 pound Victorio Campolo and 6'3, 225 pound Walter Cobb. Not that the latter three were any good but he did fight some big opponents.
At least get the facts right in terms of your own argument. Loughran fought a whole slew of heavyweights who were well over 200lbs. He is one of the fighters of this period who is least vulnerable to this argument. Even if you buy into the ridiculous notion that John Ruiz was as good as Sharkey or Baer at his best, he was way past it when he fought Haye. Haye only had one world class win over 200lbs, and that was a knife edge decision win against the #5 rated contender. Hardly enough to put him in the company of Loughran.
Carnera was the only 1 who was up to anything and he wasn't that good, him aside Audley is probably plenty better than the other 3 big men Loughran faced. And yes Ruiz is up those with the overrated Sharkey and Baer, they may actually beat him but they aren't very good, either of them. Haye would beat Baer, Sharkey, Loughran and Carnera
I think h2h David Haye would knock out Loughran. Haye is one of the best punchers I have seen. Amazing combination of speed, power, and timing
Against Enzo Maccarinelli who was passed around by every cruiserweight into their KO highlight reels.
To be 1 of the best punchers he needs a left hook (doesn't have 1), and needs to shorten up his punches (he doesn't realise calling himself the Hayemaker is taking the **** out of himself really) But he'd be too quick with his jab and countering for Loughran and too big Haye has plenty of other blow outs though. Big Mac was on a good run with his title coming into the Haye fight and that fight may have broke him. His Braithwaite win was pretty good Sharkey just wasn't that good and you don't know the basics of boxing technique so your opinion has zero validity
We never saw those blow-outs against anyone with a hint of durability and skill. Mormeck and Fragomeni gave him a hard time at cruiserweight, and those fighters in my view were extremely limited. Always got a good laugh out of watching fighters like Bonin, Glen Kelly and Gurov, I doubt they are taken seriously as wins.
