He has some skill so I wouldn't call him a can, he just can't keep the Giant off and is exhausted from trying
Meen was actually a decent British level fighter. Thought that "Carnera TKO's tomato can" would get more attention than "Carnera TKO's Reggie Meen" though. People were asking for footage of Carnera legitimately knocking down an opponent and here it is.
A nice quick TKO by Carnera in clear video quality for the time, opponent seems decent. Thanks for posting.
"Reggie Meen was a great fighter, but unfortunatly no one taught him to defend himself. " He had 47 K.O. victories and was himself knocked out 21 times plud at least 5 dq´s . A promotors dream. Made for Carnera to look good. Woller
Carnera was actually a very impressive specimen from the stand point of physical size and strength.. From the film and photos that I've seen of him, he's almost all muscle.
He does look intimidating.. No matter what one says about his abilities, he was a scary looking dude.

He was muscular all over, but his upper body and lower region seem to be disproportionate.. He's heavily muscled in the arms and torso, but the legs aren't quite as defined.. Had they been more developed, he would have been hell to try and knock down..
The same goes for Wladimir Klitschko but even more so. Carnera was the same height but a solid 260-270 pounds. Wladimir around 20 to 30 pounds lighter. Then again they probably wouldn't have been as mobile. Not that Carnera was necessarily "fleet-footed" but he could move a bit.
Carnera's a good fighter. He gets a lot of respect on this forum which is deserving and rare :good How do you guys see him doing in todays HW scene?
A couple of years back, before the belts gravitated into the Klitschko family he could have picked one up easily. Today he would beat most of the top ten at his peak. He was big, athletic, good techniocaly, and above all focused. You put him in with sombody like Chris Areola and he is going to hand them a beating. To get a belt today he would have to go through either one of the K brothers or David Haye. If he put up the fight of his life like he did against Jack Sharkey II then he might walk away with the strap. The least he would do is show the Klitschko brothers that there was another profesional and conditioned heavyweight in the division who was there to beat them.
