I think Carnera was in a higher class than Simon. The stats don't measure up well for Abe.

simon was no pushover and he beat some big names. this would be a good fight .i say close and either man takes it. does anyone see knock out? if so who scores it?

While this is true I do think that Simon hit harder and that Carnera would have to take a few of his bombs like Buddy Baer did.

    This could make it interesting.

    True,

and it should also be noted that Buddy Baer as you say, was another giant who Simon fought competitively against. Primo on the otherhand, never met anyone who matched or exceded his size ( Abe wouldn't of course ), but it might make for a good show.

Neither Simon nor Carnera were much ,imo.Simon had the better punch Carnera the better boxing.
Carnera actually met several men as big or bigger than himself.

    Ray Impellettiere 6 71/2" 258lbs
    Jose Santa 6 8 1/2"[probably shorter] 247lbs
    Victorio Campolo 6 91/2"[probably shorter] 280lbs.

    Simon takes a dec.

What are your reasons for picking Simon in this matchup? Just curious.

To be honest I am going purely on the B Baer fight ,where Simon had the big guy in trouble early . I would not be surprised if Primo jabbed his way to a dec.

I am not certain this is true.

He gave up height to Ray Impelitiere for example.

Could very well be the case. Simon was a good fighter who's abilities and accomplishments as a contender are forgotten. I think Carnera had both greater size and better polished skills.

You're right. Mcvey listed a few men who's size perameters were larger than Primo's.
