In Carnera's case you never got that. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best vs the best, but I take into account that not looking your best could have to do with factors other than being out of shape, unmotivated or unfocused, such as lacking the skill or the durability to deal with a difficult opponent. Sanders may have found Wladimir's chin but it doesn't mean he wouldn't have been outlasted by a Hasim Rahman that same night.
I am not saying that it is wrong to take each fighter at their best, but it is clearly a penalty for more consistent fighters.
green : 1 of Sanders' best descriptions . red : when did he do it ? I know there r still a few fights of his that I haven't seen yet , can u recommend me which 1 of them should I watch in order 2 cum 2 this magnificent impression of Sanders ?
Sanders blitzes him out in 1 of his easiest and less important fights . I will find it hard 2 count it 2 his favor .. winning a 12 rounds decision over Ross Puritty is more impressing than blitzing a man of Carnera's caliber early . Thread should have been Corey Sanders vs Primo Carnera and even then my choice will be Cornellius . Carnera belonged 2 Malcolm Tann's tier of big men ..
Sanders just wasn't that good. Carnera may be one of the lesser heavyweight champions, but he was still The heavyweight champion of the world.

So u worked hard just 2 find a rare occasion in his career just 2 show that Sanders threw 1 punch at a time . How many could he throw when under fire ? 4 seconds later he is punching in combination despite being under fire . When under fire and out of range and Rahman ducking into d ropes , it seems 2 some that Sanders threw wide punches , just because he didn't land . U think I didn't c these ? Keep comparing Vitali 2 Carnera ?
He was leaving himself completely exposed and got caught because of it. You can see this happen in many of his fights, even when he won.
yet sanders speed could not effect mike evans. Is primo worse than mike evans? frank bruno KOd evans in round 2.
Say what you want about Carnera, and I'll say this: the guy was battle-tested. He fought the best of his time, took some sustained beatings, but also won a few. I don't see Sanders as having that same mileage, which could be good or bad, but I'm thinking here it could hurt him. Corrie's fights tended to be quick and decisive one way or the other...I don't think he proved his heart like Carnera did. If Sanders nails him early, he could win it. But I think Primo could survive and get to Sanders late. But who the **** really knows...
