Just to make a comparison, relevant IMO.
Remember.....Haye vs Valuev wasn´t exactly easy for Haye.....he certainly won it, but I wouldn´t say he beat Valuev clearly......
We can agree that Valuev isn´t half as good as Carnera was, has a bigger head and that´s all.

I think this is an interesting matchup......

I would bet some money in Carnera......but I admit that I would be afraid about my money...

The first thing that comes to mind is probably Haye catching Carnera.

Then again you have to think about the fact that Haye was quite intimidated by the size of Valuev and Wladimir and as a result fought at a pace of barely 20 punches a round. It would suit Carnera as he would have the opportunity to use his strength in the clinches and tire out Haye to the point where his most potent power is eventually nullified.

Primo could take a decent enough punch, we have seen what Uzcudun did to Harry Wills and Carnera soaked up his best right hands, but it was the punches that he didn't see coming that befuddled him and left him confused on the canvas, which give him the reputation for having no chin. I wonder if him staying on the canvas for the full count after being downed instead of getting up time and time again despite being dazed would have given him a better reputation.

It would be a great feat for Carnera to pull off the win, as explosive power proved to be his undoing. Haye might be more beatable for him than the versions of Max Baer and Joe Louis that he fought, with Haye's lack of stamina and tendecy to wrestle with opponents. Still, I wouldn't outright favour him without question.

Carnera can definitely outbox him. He can hurt him too.

I'm not sure if Haye would crack him, but if he could make solid contact, he could hurt him.

I would bet on a Carnera decision or later stoppage. He was better than Haye.

I didn't think Haye beat Valuev, and neither did Haye's Sky Sports cheerleader Jim Watt, who had Valuev winning the fight.

Still, I'll take Haye to KO Carnera.

Carnera wasn't as tough as granite-chinned Valuev.

Yeah, my thoughts as well. :huh

Valuev was decent enough to have several decent names on his resume and was competitive with some of the best heavyweights around during his career.

He blew hot and cold and didn't seem to want to be there at times, but I could slap that label on just about any fighter. Pretty irrelevent regardless, side A brings up the Holyfield robbery, side B lists off Primo's numerous fixed fights.

He certainly wasn't a "worse" fighter then Carnera.

Almost every loss Carnera suffered was to men 200 pounds and under. He certainly wasn't any kind of juggernaut in the ring, whether or not he had decent boxing fundmentals or not.

    make it 3 .

Valuev did not knock Holyfield out because he did not want 2 do it 2 n old legend and possibly 1 of his heroes .

Valuev did want 2 help him get another payday though .

That was a fixed fight in d sense that Valuev knew that he rightfully had d judges on his side and d whole essence of that fight was 2 grant both of them , but especially Holyfield another much needed ca$h load .

He's right BE. He wasn't half as good. He was twice as good and half again.

I just don't feel some of you have let loose of your anti-Russite prejudices and taken the time to break down and analyse the best SNV performance with an open mind.

In terms of resume, Carnera is an order of magnitude better than either Valuev or Haye.

I can't believe those two mongs hijacked a thread for Valuev. V-a-l-u-e-v. That's the ESB steal of the century right there.
