stop it. just give him credit for his length and strength. "a really good technician" he wasnt.

he had a good jab due to his hieght and power. and a solid right hand. but he was clueless. he was a good superheavy that didnt utilize his strengths.

but smaller guys have stayed inside him round after round and landed consistantly if you just move into range. check the gains fight. he clearly has no response form a guy jabbing himself inside.

Unfortunately, he was neither as good a boxer nor as powerful a puncher.

    Stop already.

Oh, Jeezus!:patsch Diaper stain?:ass Screaming kid?:| The office?:pc Damn.:verysad My sincerest condolences and sympathies. (But at least you're not waiting until Friday to have a few drinks!:cheers.)

Impellittiere happens to be a big guy who was filmed with Carnera. If you want a better one, you can have Godfrey. Footage of Campolo would be revealing, but I though Primo handled himself fairly well against Godfrey.

Carnera may not have been a heavy puncher for hius size, but he was certainly a good boxer.

If you try to make a case to the contrary, based on footage of him in his prime, then you will loose.

I prefer to remain tight, thanks.

Just because an elephant can be trained to pour a glass of wine does not make me want him as my waiter.

A battle between two big Italians who couldn't take a punch. Damiani would have made it real close, but I'd pick Carnera.

I've got Damiani. He'd pressure Carnera all across the ring and rip into the Alp like a summer storm. The only chance Primo has is to break Francesco's nose, but I wouldn't bet on it- He'd have to get a once in a lifetime uppercut like Mercer, or beat the **** out of him for most of the fight like McCall, and there's no way that Carnera's gonna get in the trenches and duke it out with him.

Damiani very underrated nowadays and I think he was a more natural fighter than Carnera. Certainly he seemed more fluid, well rounded and dependable. Carnera is kinda stiff and really didn't generate the sort of life-ending power that his muscular frame was capable of.

    I'll go with Damiani.
