Primo Carnera vs George Foreman, 20 rounds in Italian Libya

I don't know, but Jo-Jo the Kangroo. Carnera's chief sparring partner KO'd Carnera in sparring and so did a malnourished POW. I'd say, Foreman get's DQd for the first shove if this is as fixed as you are painting it to be.

 

IMHO:

1. George Foreman is the hardest hitter in Boxing History.
2. Carnera can be hit cleanly by Foreman.
3. Carnera has been knocked out by guys who didn't hit as hard as Foreman.

I think, for me, that answers the question.

 

But could Foreman beat Jo-Jo the Kangaroo?

 

To paraphrase Max Baer after he fought Tony Galento,...."He'll have to eat his spaghetti through a straw..."

 

I think despite Foreman’s obvious climactic disadvantages he still wins by stopping carnera early before his stamina diminishes. Carnera won’t use the ropes and wear George down the way Ali did. Furthermore while primo mat fight dirty, George was a nasty guy to get in the clinches as he loved to give guys that gut check while being tied up.

 

There was never a giant that George couldn't thrash....as in Jack O'Halloran.

 

Il Primo takes all of Listons best shots until the 26th round, wherein he blasts Sonny to the canvas with an astounding left right combination, leaving Sonny on his back with his left glove shading his eyes. Up until his untimely death Sonny will claim to have thrown the fight, but we all know the truth.
