Who Would Win The Giant Primo Carnera or The Giant Nikolai Waluev in Prime Time. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
Carnera would actually look pretty small compared to Valuev, Primo was only 6' 5". Even Vitali would make this guy look like a midget. Not sure who wins between him and Valuev.
Jesus i didnt know he was only this size, from the talk about him i thought he was much bigger. He's only the size of Wladimir.
Primo Carnera looks EXACTLY like Wlad on film if Wlad would actually try and engage his opponents. And as for his punching power, he did kill a man in the ring.
It's just that Joe Louis could actually turn guys, fight, and counterpunch. People can't really fight nowadays. Look at ****in Povetkin; he would be standing right in front of Carnera.
I wouldn't favor Carnera in too many H2H matches, but I would in this one. Carnera may be the worst of the old linear champs but he's better than talentless palookas than Valuev or Ruiz.
Baer was the first one to knock out Carnera. I am not sure that Carnera could knock out Valuev because no one has ever been able to do it. I think this goes the distance. I would give a small edge to Cannera winning on points but in todays world the judges give Valuev some unpopular decisions so he might end up winning. Tough one to call.
Watch it right next to this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW6Z...6084432DD&index=3&playnext=3&playnext_from=PL
I wonder if Carnera could do the same to Chagev or Louis could've done the same to Klitschko that he did to Carnera?
I think so. Chagaev moves his head, but he has very limited lateral movement, and for his particular style, he needed to be more aggressive. The problem with Chagaev is he fights in the pros like it's the amateurs, and his offense is mostly limited to a 1-2, but that also probably has to do with his lack of speed and fluidity. Louis, a smaller faster, fighter was making Carnera look clumsy by using great lateral movement and never giving the bigger man a chance to set up his punches. And with his defense he was making Carnera miss and then capitalising by countering, and often landing blistering combinations, something that Chagaev appears to be incapable of doing. Wlad isn't known for having a great chin, and he rarely throws an uppercut and is stuck in a habit of fighting too tall, where he rarely bends at the waist, in contrast to his brother for instance who appears much more fluid and relaxed, but lacks the explosiveness and overall athleticism that Wlad has. Wlad can fight like this though because his opposition often allows him to do so. But even though Wlad has a harder punch, I can see Louis ducking his jabs, and being fast enough to counter, and land combinations that will hurt Wlad considering his chin is a major liability. I could see David Haye using a similiar approach, except David Haye has the right concept regarding his style, but it's fundamentaly flawed to the point to where Klitschko could take advantage of it and knock him out. It's a toss up between those too, which Haye could solidify if he would work on his fundamentals, and then the fight would be greatly in his favor considering his aggressive, countering style, and power and speed to pull it off. Either way, I think Carnera is underrated and if you replaced Klitschko with him, he would be in the same position as Wlad.
