I cant prove that George Foreman hit harder than Jimmy Young ,but I think he did, does that answer your question MR Confrontation? Schaaf, Heeney ,Campbell and Schmeling were all RATED CONTENDERS,LYLE KOD ONE, Shavers who was kod 7 times, dropped by Bob Stallings, a non puncher for a 9 count, destroyed in 1 round by Jerry Quarry, kod by Randy Cobb who had minimal power, and Tough man winner Ron Stander,Lyle credentials as a top hitter are too thin. You base his rep on dropping Foreman twice,Young and Ali dropped Foreman.are they big hitters?

Thin comparisons regarding Ali and Young ... both dropped exhausted Foreman's ... Foreman said in his entire career no one ever hit him as hard as Ron Lyle. Joe Bugner said the same. Lyle was also fighting much bigger and stronger guys than the light heavyweights and cruisers Baer fought ... regardless, I say Lyle destroys Carnera , a terrible match up for Primo ...

Carnera beat some men over 2oo lbs
Some of the better ones would include
    Neusel 201
    Impelletiere 258
    Uzcudun 2021/2
    Sharkey 201
    Schaaf 207
    Gorman 2231/2

If you weren't so concerned with trashing eveyone's posts ,you might have noticed that I haven't actually picked a winner of this match up.But then it's all bout what you are saying isn't it?

Man this board is filled with so many hotheads it is a bit sad ... it's a shame as there are many really knowledgable guys and no need to get in each others face like high school all the time ...

    Lyle by KO.

He had massive power in his fists, was a bit more technical (though not by much) but was a boxing virtuoso compared to the Ambling Alp, who had height, reach, power, but no other skills I can think of.

You didn't ask for Fighters as good as those you named, you said good fighters.Neusel beat
    Schmeling
    Tandberg
    Peterson
    Loughran
    Levinsky
    Poreda
    Foord.

    Schaaf
    beat
    Uzcudun
    Poreda
    Griffiths
    Braddock
    Baer
    Stribling
    Those are good fighters imo.
Lyle might well crush Carnera ,my original point ,which I thought I would regret making,[and I was right],was that Lyle doesnt walkover the Giant in a blow out.

Carnera beat Sharkey who is about the same level as Lyle. He also beat Tommy Loughran, an excellent contender, Uzcudun twice, Schaaf, Laski and others.

Lyle beat a much past it Ellis, Bonavena (very good win, probably his best), a mediocre Bugner and gave good efforts against Foreman and Ali, but came up short and Young and Quarry, despite the latter being old and smaller, gave him a boxing lesson.
