    Carnera's 21st,to 32nd opponents had a combined total of111 ko losses on their records.Their average ko% was 25%.
As I said, he was kept away from punchers.
Carnera's first 32 opponents have a combined total of 684 losses!

But this was an era where Jimmy Braddock was world champion he had lost 25 fights. Before his run of seven wins that included the title Win jimmy was losing more than he was winning and has a record of 39-22!!! Grooming only applied to your first year or so back then. They fought a lot.

    Your dissmissiveness is telling.

You said he didn't beat punchers.
    I mention Gastanaga.
You say the fight was investigated.
I explain there was no wrongdoing.
Then you say he was stopped on cuts and lost his last three fights.

    It's so pathetic.

I can't think of anywhere, but on here, where a person would look at a concentrated sample of 32 opponents (from which an average can be taken) and counter this with a sample of '1'... ...that one, who just happens to be the Cinderella Man, a boxer whose story is so atypical that a Hollywood Movie was made about him.

A lot of people had skewed records compared to modern fighters who almost all are undefeated until a real match.

Ross Purrity had a worse career start than Humphrey Jackson. Guess you can't always count those types out.

You're the guy who compared Carnera's early career to Foreman's. What an absolute joke that was!

I didn't say he lost his last 3 fights I said Gastanaga quit in at least 3 fights. I don't consider him anything but an average puncher.Gastanaga had been stopped 10 times when he fought Carnera, and had lost over a third of his fights ,he was an in and out journeyman.

Closed minds, the revisionism on here is simply astonishing at times. Reg Gutteridge described Carnera as a pantomime villain without power.

Ross Purrity going into the Wlad fight had only lost to contenders or fringe contenders in the last 4 years. In 54 fights he was only stopped 3 times twice on cuts. Purrity also had a draw with Morrison on his sheet.
There is simply no way you can look at the stats of Carnera's first 32 opponents and not conclude,[ with a couple of exceptions ,]that they were not of a God awful standard

Purrity had a bad record in a time where it was hard to have a bad record if you had any potential.

Many future champions string a bunch of wins from record padders. That's why your analysis sucks! It's relative to an impossible standard.

I wasn't referring to Impelletiere only that he was a novice and was out boxing Carnera early on.

Impelletiere's record when he fought Loughran was reported as 11-0 and given that he had 70lbs and 8 inches in height on him it was a reasonable matchup
Purrity's losses over the 4 years prior to his Wlad fight were to:
    Donald
    Sanders
    Byrd
    Grant
    Rahman
All were ranked, and 3 held versions of the title.

Angry again, you need to curb that ,it clouds what judgement you might have.
