Just thinking of prizefighter reminded me of this guy. First I saw of him was on PF, looked decent, very tall for his weight, seemed to have decent skills. Due to fight again next week according to boxrec. what do people think of him? still young and has decent experience - fighting anthony small in his 5th fight, beat renda, took on duddy as a 19 year old, in Ireland - pretty ballsy or bad matchmaking? anyway people who have seen more of him, whats the opinion? future brit champ? euro level eventually?
He's improving constantly. Will probably get a few more losses on his record, but I have got quite high hopes for him. Nothing wrong with optimistic matchmaking in my opinion. It has't done the Prince any harm, and he's plucked out some very good wins!!!:bbb
I think it's good matchmaking. He hasn't been badly damaged by the looks of things, and fighting tough opposition early (Hell, at any point in a fighters career by todays standards) is something I'll all for.
I thought that he was alright when I saw him out last time...:yep Does he do the weight okay...:think Bob Shannon will get him into great condition thats for certain...:good
Reckless matchmaking. Sure, we all want to see less padded records and quicker progressions but there is a difference between that and throwing a youngster in way out of his depth. The only reason he didn't sustain more serious damage against Duddy was because his durability wasn't good enough. Is that a good thing, getting sparked in a couple of rounds? That tells you it was poor matchmaking, he can't have learnt too much in those rounds. Luckily he's developed quite well.
I haven't seen much of Arron outside of Prizefighter so can't really comment as such...but taking on John Duddy as an 18 month pro novice is pretty optimistic
Hopefully he gets some backing now and good build up fights to get him to a level ready to beat domestic champs.
