Ah Naseem, once a **** always a ****, now I remember why I didn't like him in his prime, respect him as a fighter though.
He wouldn't be invited on them. Too hated in this country. I swear some of the venim and vitriol that comes out when people talk about Naseem Hamed is unreal. What a shame! One of the most charismatic fighters in history.
naz is one of boxings winners. got out health intact and plenty of money in the bank. time for him to bring out his book though. getting impatient waiting now. time to tell his side of the story i think. :good
:deal I miss the hype and great fights he brought, he really entertained but as a man from what i've read/heard and seen on tv i don't blame anyone for not liking him. I'm not a fan of him as a man, wasn't as a fighter but respect his ability.
That was unfortunate. And it's something that can happen to pretty much anyone on the road. Point remains. Naseem is one of the best characters i've EVER seen in boxing. Lit the sport up. Even though i wasn't a great fan of his fighting style. I can appreciate his achievements and what a brillient character he was. And i don't think he's a bad person. Can you say swag!
no way. showing off on the wrong side of the road. naz was being a f*cking grade a twat deserved longer than he got in prison. atsch
Totally lit up Boxing. When he was on Sky, some people couldnt even see him fight but knew all about him. He was the most entertaining talker I think I ever heard in all sports & an underrated fighter. At the time I really wanted Barrera to beat him but soon I was missing the Prince!
The interviewer was horrible at the end, awkward handshakes and declarations of love. Naz is still the best.
Naz was great for the sport because he polarised people. Whether you wanted to see him get knocked out or knock a guy out you tuned in! I was a big fan of his. He wasn't always in the right, but he genuinely wanted to put on a show and entertain people. Guys give things back to the sport in different ways, like coaching, community work (martinez and his anti-bullying campaign) and I think Naz gave a lot of himself to create the character that drew people in. Much like they say Ali was a quiet introverted guy out of the public eye, I reckon Naz is probably a different character too, but he wanted to make boxing big time, and he wanted to light a fire under it. Sure he was flawed, but who isn't.
