    Toatal BS....he was nothing but a southpaw clown.....a guy who brought the sweet science down to the level of the WWF. Thank gooodness MAB handed him his ass, and then Hamed was gone.......punk ass clown puke is all he was.:roll:

    The geezer was one in a million never again is there going too be another prince in boxing. I sure miss his fights.

    Ive only read this post so I`ll be suprised if nobody beats me to it but.... Alexis Arguello hits harder for starters.

    He had a helluva punch for his weight class but it was augmented by the fact that he was so unorthodox and the shot usually came from a weird angle.

    How would one prove such a thing without running physical tests at the fighters perspective peak on some sort of machine?? Similar to the Rocky movie, maybe??

    I dont think its possible to classify any fighter as #1 in anything.

    Too many variables in everything wouldnt you agree?

    I KNOW! Earnie Shavers and George Foreman both left some guys standing after the final bell too, HOW can people think those guys could punch?? Just doesn't make sense to bright guys like us huh Popkins?

    Alexis was a powerful puncher, but he wasn't on Hamed's level as far as single shot power goes. Quite a few fighters took Arguello's best shots and remained standing. I don't think there's ever been a fighter close to Hamed's weight that could take several of his punches flush and still be there.

    There's plenty to rag on Hamed about, but give the devil his due. He had nukes in his gloves.
