I have recently re-watched quite a few of the Prince's fights as I transferred them across from VHS to DVD....... It's easy to forget just how good he was! He was so entertaining, both inside and outside of the ring, and as with many sportsmen/women I don't think everyone appreciated him as much as they could of whilst he was active. I miss him, British boxing misses him. Favourite performance?....... My God the Kevin Kelly was exciting!:bbb
Absolute character! I'm sure I remember some sort of beef between him and Eubank... Is that right? :think Eubank and Hamed amongst the top entertainers in boxing though!
Yes! I remember there was some sort of altercation at an airport?! And Naz was ringside when Calzaghe fought Eubank, you could see him cheering Joe on and trying to wind up Eubank!:thumbsup
My point exactly mate! He's been gone for a decade yet people still miss him, there is nobody qite like him:hey
He shouldn't be judged on the Barrera fight as much as he is. He was probably one of the most unique sportsman this country has ever produced, let alone boxing. He lacked the drive sadly, relied too much on ability. Too talented for his own good.
ye he gets respect in the brit forum, but in the general alot of people discredit his achievements, say he got exposed etc, really winds me up when they suck the balls of a guy like broner but call naz a fraud.
I think he had just about everything. The Barrera fight was closer than people now make out (IMO); don't get me wrong, I think Barrera was/is a legend, but I think Naz underestimated him, and if prpoperly prepared and focused he had the beating of him.
Maybe so mate........ But then again, if a fighter can say that the only man who bettered him was an ATG like Barrera that's not too shabby!:bbb
