Now do you really think he stood a chance in a rematch with MAB? Like I stated before he was truly exciting and fun to watch but not ATG, Lennox Lewis is a perfect example of an ATG.
Very possibly he isnt. I did say arguable if you remember. Im rating him on physical talent and title defences rather than resume, which is still better than your implying by the way. Belcastro, Robinson, Medina, Johnson, Kelley, Vazquez, Ingle and Soto were not tomato cans imo. Most of his opponents had good records. Look man I'm not asking for approval okay, you have your opinion I have mine. Ive never done an ATG list past the top thirty so I dont know who I'd have at the bottom of the hundred but hes a guy I'd think about.
I think if you put the Naseem that was trained by Ingle he would stand a very good chance vs. MAB and most probably beat him. Naz use to be a boxer, by the time he left Ingle, he was just a brawler relying solely on his powerpunch.
Yeah it's a shame a lot of boxing fans could not separate the man from the boxer. He said he retired due to bad hands.
The Prince brought a lot of attention to the lower weights and never gets the credit he deserves because of his trash talking and show boating.
yeah, he made the lower weight division real big, he was a smart guy, made a hell of a lot more money than some heavy weights during that time. A lot of his trash talking was just fight promotion and tonque in cheek, he was a funny guy but not many people saw that.
Very good boxer, but I think the 'bad hands' excuse is simply that, an excuse. A cheap way out. There was a documentary a few years back on Brendan Ingle and he said he knew when Hamed's heart wasn't in it any more when he went and got his teeth fixed, or some **** like that, when he told him to do it after his career was over instead. Someone will know what doc I'm on about. Anyway, his 'bad hands' didn't affect the way he fought Barrera, so what? It affected his **** poor performance for his last fight when he was soundly booed by the audience? Ok, maybe, it's possible. But the chances are he had had enough after being so schooled and humiliated by MAB - an ego deflated. And he didn't know how, or wanted to come back afterwards. 'Bad Hands' my arse. Bad excuse, more like. Great boxer, not an ATG, but could have been.
Bad hands or not he definately lost his hunger, and that teeth fixing **** was part of it too, I mean he was a very wealthy man before he even climbed in the ring with MAB. He also had a stylist flown in by private jet just cut his ****ing hair before that fight. I saw him train before the MAB fight and Manny Steward couldn't give a **** how badly Naz was getting outboxed by an amatuer during sparring. Naz was full of 'yes' men around him, he never had his heart in boxing after he made his money.
Great video, shows his power very well thing is with naz, the same people who say hes not that good seem to judge him by really high standards ie criticism for his last fight, when way past his best and with his power not seeming what it was, when the still won nearly every round and that goes down as a really poor performance.
Awsome Vid :happy If you love boxing and you love to be entertained you must have loved watching this guy fight, he is sorely missed
People make it out like he was completely spanked by MAB. But what most ppl dont know is that, that was only half of what the real Naseem was and MAB still couldn't even come close to knocking him out.
No one is blind to what happened to Hamed with Barrera. He was outclassed. Period. As for the dude earlier saying he nearly won every round, are you ****ing mental? Not close to knocking him out? If someone in the ring wanted to play about with a boxer he knew couldn't hurt him because he was more skillful, I'd tell them to watch that Barrera- Hamed fight for lessons on how to really mentally and physically defeat your opponent.
