I was very young when all that was happening and i never missed his fights, he was good value. The Robinson thing mattered squat to me.
His height was the only thing that would have stopped him going up to Super-feather and Lightweight, he was only 5'3...ish.
I disagree, i think it was down to balance, in Tito's case i always thought it was down to being a bit cold or stiff in the opening rounds.
i think we should have some MODS on here who ban idiots, theres having a opinion which i can respect but some people are just mentally ******ed
naz was never seriously hurt in his career he was all over the place because he was always off balance from throwing his awkward shots naz had a good chin
Naz' chin wasn't the strongest - but he was a very dangerous opponent with his unorthodox stance and his fierce power. I'll rate him just behind Barrera and Moralez in the featherweight division around 2000-2002 - and thereby in the top-10 p4p at that time...:bbb
Some people are f*ing hilarious - for all the wrong reasons. There is no evidence to suggest that Naz had anything other than very good chin. If you disagree then please re-watch the fights, take note of how Naz never got jelly legs like Khan for instance, take note of how he was always off balance when he got knocked down, take note of how he was always up after a few seconds, take note of how he never stumbled around the ring after getting back on his feet, take note of how he resumed offensive boxing as if nothing had happened. Some people just love to throw the 'glass jaw' accusations around. In the mean time I think the gross stupidity shown in this thread warrants a few clicks of the 'ignore' button.
The highest Naz got to was #6 in 2000. Was he worth it? It's difficult to say. He had never fought anyone of true top quality by this stage, but he had looked devastating against the mediocre opposition he had faced. I suppose he did deserve #6 status, because at this time Diego Corrales was #5 and I think Hamed was probably a better fighter so if Chico deserved his placing then Naz definitely deserved his or better. But Hamed was never a contender for top 3 status IMO. Even at his brilliant best, the deficiencies were there for all to see, and Barrera exposed him brilliantly.
Naz had a very good chin, the reason he was knocked down all the time was he danced around like he was at a rave and got caught off-balance,never saw him hurt. I didnt really like him at the time but would love to see someone like him around now coz he wound up so many people and his interviews were genius. P4P he was defo top 8 at that time.
He had a decent chin, he didn't fall to pieces when he got hit flush, but to say it was a 'strong' chin is silly. It was maybe slightly better than average. Guys with truly 'strong' chins like Toney, Hopkins, and Margarito aren't dropped so easily.
