Naz had one bad night at the office and a terrible training camp we know it was his own fault and there is no shame in losing to MAB but for 99% of his career he was pretty damn special and very underrated, something that was not lost on the boxing hall of fame who inducted him last year. Pac has a chance but the one thing with Naz on his game was that if you got hit you stayed hit. He punched like a mule and we are talking prime Naz here.
But Manny also hit hard, threw more punches than Naz, was faster, brought unbelievable pressure and aggression and was also a southpaw. I have a hard time envisaging the guy at his peak who was dropped, rocked and clocked with alarming ease by a past prime Kevin Kelly even managing to last the distance with a threshing machine like Manny Pacquiao. Naz was good and hit very hard true, which gives him a shot I suppose but really we are talking about different levels of fighters here. Naz told everyone he was a legend and Manny became one.
Thank you. I've been saying this for years. Pacqiauo fought nothing like Barrera, so I can't see why people bring that fight up. What Pacqiauo did to Hatton, Hamed was doing on a regular basis, putting people to sleep. Hamed would have an easier time with Pqcqiauo than he ever did with MAB, because he wouldn't have to go far to find Pacqiauos chin and out of them, Hamed was a much bigger puncher.
Hamed was a very good fighter but lost his way. He ended up just going for the payoff punch all the time and forgot his skills. The Kelly fight was thrilling to watch but Hamed could have made it a lot easier on himself. Pacquiao at a higher level and he wins by stoppage.
I always thought that this wouldn't be such an easy fight for Manny. On paper Manny should overwhelm him and outclass him, but Naz hit very f*cking hard and if he hit you, you usually went down and stayed down. I also always thought that Morales would have been a better fight for Naz due to him being so macho. I mean he went southpaw with Manny and beat him! No reason why he couldn't think he could out-brawl Naz.
If we're talking about the version of Hamed who fought Calvo, then I assume Pac would win. If it's a version from a few years earlier then I don't know what happens. Keep in mind Manny fought in straight lines back then and was easier to time.
Despicable creature though he is I would pick Hamed in this fight. He definitely hit harder than Pac at 126, and as has been stated Pac was easier to hit in those days. Hamed KO inside 4 rounds.
Naz was a bully like Tyson who didn't like being hit back by someone with punch power and a heart and Manny has never been intimidated by anyone his entire career. I could see Pac getting floored perhaps more than once but he'll win a war of attrition, remember he was younger and hungrier than Naz in 2001.
