Naz is a genius inside the ring; a **** and a piece of s.*^t outside it.

I think that people shouldn't jump to conclusions based on the things written in the newspapers - particularly UK based ones, which have a history of sensationalism.

For example, I have seen the Naseem sparring a boxing journalist footage, and he doesn't 'beat the ****' out of him. The guy is a heavyweight, an ex or amateur boxer, and MUCH larger than Naz. Obviously Naz gets the better of him pretty easily, and if I remember correctly really stings him with a body shot - but he didn't maliciously beat the **** out of him. The other guy, for all his size advantages, didn't seem to be holding back either. It's all sensationalism.

I think that, love him or hate him, Naz deserves respect. He was a phenomenal boxer, puncher, and showman. Let's be honest, even if it's not your cup of tea - no one has been able to do what he did, before or since. It may have been over the top, but if you re-watch it man was it impressive.
Obviously the defeat to MAB derailed him, but MAB is an ATG - and Naz hung with him for a close points loss without even training. It's sad that someone so naturally gifted just didn't wanna put the work in. That's the biggest crime really.

Except all Naz' problems were his own's doings, beginning with his treatment of Ingle.
The guy is out of control and believes his own hype.

Why should anyone respect that ?

I agree with your point - and I was alluding to as much in my post. The greatest crime is how he threw away all that natural sheer talent - reflexes, speed, technique, and supernatural insane power, all because of his own bad decisions.

He certainly deserves respect as a BOXER though. A lot of boxers are pretty unscrupulous outside the ring and particularly in their business dealings. A lot of people wanna discredit him because they disliked him personally, and were rooting for him to get his come-uppance.

"If you want to measure's a man's true character, give him power"

    Naz clearly failed.

No sympathy for the man whatsoever.

He was a Glass Jawed British hype job who was coddled and didn't fight the best fighters available to him and got his ass kicked the one time he stepped up and quit the sport like a spoiled baby.

Personally, I don't see the Khan comparison as relevant. Khan was an olympian, who achieved his fame through mainstream exposure at the olympics.
People are saying 'Naseem was a hype job who was coddled and never fought the best' - whereas some people are comparing to Khan, who always fought the best and never ducked anyone....

I think that the only thing those guys have in common is that they seem to polarise opinion and can't do right for doing wrong in some peoples eyes.

Sorry, not trying to inflame an argument, I just think that with a fighter like Naseem he will always divide opinion - with some (like myself) thinking that he was an incredible talent who could have been a legend, with others revelling in his undoing, and happy to see him get his come uppance.

From a strictly boxing point of view, I think he was fantastic though, and were it not for his ego he could been one of the very best.

Naseem was definitely a better fighter than Khan.

Beat all the titlists at 126, beat better opposition than Khan did, and only lost to a great fighter in Barrera, not a guy on the level of Danny Garcia, nor did he get taken to the brink by guys on the Maidana level.

Froch is way ahead of him, like him or not Froch has beaten Pascal, Bute, Taylor, Kessler, Naz hasn't a record like that, Hatton beating Tszyu better than anyone Naz beat. Khan beat some fighters at top level but we know he is not elite same we found out with Naz. Give me Naz five best wins and compare them to Khan you'll find little difference
