Nowadays British fighters are scared to fight outside their hometown, let alone in various countries abroad without any proper team / management. Fair play to Patel, he's won the Commonwealth Title too.
I dont get why more British fighters or people from other sports don't use their talent to travel around more.
A fight for the British title must be a pretty easy one to make and break him to people over here again, Khademi and Ahmed drewin the last title fight and it was vacant so The Prince deserves a shot. 10 fights in the last 3 years despite Covid, got to admire the man for that, especially the way he's done it, whether some of it was forced or not he's put himself out there and achieved more than 99% of professional boxers ever will.
He could have easily retired after being let go from Warren to be honest. He's also matured since those outlandish comments he used to make. I've seen several interviews where he's apologised about the Barry Jones comments etc.
Does anyone know exactly why he was let go by Warren? Was it simply to do with ability or more based on his character/attitude?
No too difficult out of a pool of 15 fighters. In the previous fight he won 5 vacant titles that must be a record and I am also sure he lost to Innocent Everist as well but it seems to have been changed to a SD draw? In all honesty it is very hard to gauge the legitimacy of these fights and the true level of the opposition. It costs money, Patel has some rich sponsor who pays all his expenses.
