Prince Patel - the new Tony Bellew or a more deluded Amir Khan?

What a surprise to see Tamwar Tibbs turn up when a boxer of Asian descent is mentioned.

He conveniently knows the guy and he will also be a world champion; the standard rubbish from Tamwar Tibbs, as per usual.

It's worth remembering that Tamwar Tibbs said Brett Beadon would go on to be a world champ.

He's been released from his contract by Steve Goodwin.

 

The poor chap urgently needs a name change. "Prince Patel" isn't really doing it for me. :-(

 

That was probably the most annoying thing about the whole interview.

 

he just comes across as a complete ***** who isnt funny or in the slightest interesting. he thinks acting like that will make him a big name i beg to differ and he is one ugly bifter head that must pay for all his so called female attention

 

To be fair, he's a tiny little eight stone man who's bigging himself up.
He probably can fight better than most men. He probably can pull his fair share of girls or more (if he actually fancies girls, which is debatable). He is good-looking.
He's a little guy playing his best hand.

I say good luck to the little 'un.
He enjoys getting noticed.

 

I do fear that the kid's going to end up getting himself spit roasted by Derek Chisora and David Haye though.
British boxing isn't what it used to be.

 

This is what I mean.
He's heading to get bum rap*ed by one of the degenerate heavyweights or bloated bouncers that hang around the boxing scene.

I have only seen that interview and I wasn't impressed.

He wrongly assumes that being arrogant and acting like he does will make him a star. Being a cartoon character in public will only make you a star if you have the goods to back it up (Mayweather, Naz, Eubank Sr). It remains to be seen if Patel has those goods.

The last minute or so of that interview reveals more of the real Patel, I think. For the first time in the interview he showed some decorum and restraint, relatively speaking, and appeared to be talking truthfully about what he wanted rather than just talking the usual unoriginal, bravado nonsense that passes for charisma these days.

The problem for me is that if he wants to carry on in this manner, he is just not original enough to make it big with this persona. It is kind of like Broner - A Lidl Mayweather mini-me. Patel came across as a Skoda Naz wannabe.

Also, when will people realise that making a rubbish joke, then looking around at your yes men mates to laugh with you, does not make you funny.
