Anyone watching tonights Prize fighter event on Sky? I am really looking forward to it, especially if it is anything like the previous show. Barry Hearns has got a great idea with this tournament and he has put together a very good show and set of fighters. All the fighters are very interesting in tonights bouts but I will be supporting Burton.
Lee Swaby, Darren Morgan, Chris Burton, Sam Sexton, Dave Ferguson, Dave Ingelby, Pele Reid and Luke Simpkin.
chris burton seems to be favourite, but i didnt think he looked that great against swaby recently. ferguson seems to be the value bet imo.
Pele Reid looks pretty terrible at the moment, Sexton has took the first 2 rounds but doesn't look all that good to me.
Reid always has a chance because of his KO record. Plus he's a bit more experienced and has operated at a higher level. He looks pretty much finished though but his form isn't bad going into the competition. Burton seems to be the favourite, he's the tallest out of the guys, obviously unbeaten and seems to have solid power from his KO record. He's been pretty active aswell and he's around 230 I think so should be in decent shape and he's relatively young compared to most of the others. Ferguson could be a good outside bet aswell, 2nd tallest guy, around 235 so like Burton should be in decent shape. Decent record and decent form going into it and pretty active. He'll also have the crowd behind him. Lee Swaby & Luke Simpkin I think you can both right off. Probably the same with Darren Morgan aswell. I think it will be a Burton-Ferguson final. Still undecided on the actually winner though.
i was quite disappointed with the first 2 fights. luckily the burton and swaby fights were cracking. i was suprised and impressed by swaby
that chris burton laddie looks like he could be adecent prospect.compared to the rest of them he looks like he keeps himself fit,and in shape. hope he wins...
burton a bit too by the numbers for a format like this. sexton just had too much intensity for burton, but i wouldnt mind seeing a fight between these two over 8 or 10 rounds.
