I was not able to watch the end as the pub had called time.Oakey looked to be winning it in the 1st.What happend with Dilks,i thought he was lucky with both decisions then he pulled out.We had no sound in the pub so couldn`t hear the explination.

Oakey won , I just got in from work in time to watch the semis.

In Dilks fight they recounted the cards and it turned out Stubbs had won.

Thanks for clearing that up,we were well confused. Why they wont allow the sound on i will never know.Glad Oakey won just a bit pissed off we could not see the end.For once i wish i hadn`t cancelled sky sports. The fact the Khan fight is a box office reminds me why i did though totaly pathetic, typical of sky and very predictable but still annoying.

I do not see what this sorry tournament has to appeal to boxing fans. I thought we got rid of these silly tournaments in the 70s, but oh no, we still have some serious marks even in the 21st century!

Ok they are not great but ive noticed in the pub where i drink they generate a fair bit of interest among people who would not normally watch boxing.I could rant all day about how sky should be showing a much better quality of boxing. These tournaments at least give some degree of entertainment and if im honest id rather watch these than fights like the Chissora farce sky showed the other week.

Yes, which makes the tournaments even more ridiculous!

    agreed again...

but, i am very surprised how few people feel the way you and me do about it...it belittles the sport of boxing, yet on here its got loads of supporters.

Ive got to admit I do like watching them a lot but I do think its a shame it counts on your professional record.

A three round fight presents a very different challenge than a ten rounder particularly in term of stratergy and some fighters may not give a good impression of their true talent.

It has got even my Missus watching though!

    What to do???

I enjoy them. Can not think of too many times I have watched the Friday night fight recently due to Clev vs afrobum 1,2 and 3 plus other no events. Ok a couple of the prizefighter events have been naff but the last one was very good and had good fighters.

Boxing either needs a kick up the backside like the przefighter or for promoters to start putting good shows on with equal match ups.
