Can some of you self proclaim boxing expert not grasp the difference between a million dollar fight and amateur fights where skill and techniques count? You know why people don't give a damn about Winky, Spinks, Raheem, etc... Cause in prize fighting they are meant to entertain. You think these boxers gives a rat's ass that the hardcore boxing fan think they have great defensive boxing skills? Yea the hardcore boxing fan can appreciate what they bring into the ring but the hardcore boxing fan alone doesn't make a fighter in prize fighting. These guys would love nothing more then to get the big fights but people aren't willing to pay for it and if you think these guy care about the boxing fan your high on crack. Prize fighting is entertainment, period. You either catter to the majority of your fan or you vanish like Winky, Spinks, Raheem, etc..
I think many people were expecting Ibragimov to be KO'd. Instead we got a game of "tag" with the occasional right hand bomb from Wlad.
That's somewhat true. There are a lot more Arturo Gatti highlight movies on youtube than there are Pernell Whitaker's.
It is the norm for Vlad to knock out his opponents, but he was impressive tonight, look what he did with the jab along, just a few right hands. Pro is about knockouts, TKO's, decisions and yes, that involves boxing skills, techniques. Vlad's defense was incredible.
Okay, maybe you are going a little too far. Spinks, Winky and Raheem didn't vanish. Spinks and Winky HAVE had big fights and both have gotten millions. Both were undisputed champions, so lets not look down on them.
Nothing exceptional about it, He was just at a very large physical advantage. The height differential alone will not enable Ibragimov to do what he wants.
