    I think Holmes and Cooney both made around $10million each, which was an all time high in 1982. Since that time though, purses have reached sick proportions.

    People keep going on about boxing dying but the money is ridiculous, especially compared to the old days.

    Two real HW champs, Frazier and Ali made a couple of million each for their fights and they were records. With inflation that makes it about 10 million.

    Hatton must have cleared over 15 for his fight with PBF, who is a relatively unpopular fighter, and they're fighting at welterweight.

    So imagine what boring fellas the current heavyweights are for being boring mofos who attract faaaaaaar less attention than the smaller weight classes, who are, throughout history, crippled by popular heavyweights when it comes to money purses.

    These are the basic purses the fighters agreed and accepted and not with merchandise and PPV add-ons.


    Hagler $12 million Leonard $11 million

    Hatton's basic purse for Mayweather was $10 million.
