Round 3 Perez lands his right jab and left cross all while circling and admiring his work, taking his time. Manswell is reduced to a couple of lunging left jabs at the shorter man, unable to hit the moving target. Lead left from Perez is blocked but shakes Manswell a bit. Clinch, initiated by KM. Manswell is badly rocked by a straight left lead. Perez puts together two and three shots at a clip, right hooks and lefts all while dancing around the giant. Manswell is backed up again with a quickly popped but less powerful left. Manswell circles and turns his shoulder out, then rushes in to grab. He seems to be en route to survival. Yep. 30-26 Perez
I spent the last minute there screaming at the TV to try and get Manswell to take a swing...he did feck all in the final round, really disappointing from a fighter who needed a KO.
I think the power is there but he just isn't a good finisher right now. He had Manswell quite severely hurt with single shots, but just couldn't keep it going enough to get rid of him.
That round was like watching two octupusses ****ing. Both guys believe that a punch isn't worth throwing unless it passes through 3 area codes before landing.
Round 1 These guys are huge. The ring looks tiny right now. Tony lands a right hand and leans away, drifting away from Orlov. The Russian just plods on sideways, throwing slowly with both arms and getting up-jabbed in the face. Orlov then hurts Tony with a stray right and mauls him against the ropes. Tony clinches. Right hand lands for Tony. Orlov just clubs away wildly. Tony is actually getting caught with some of this junk. Tony lands an uppercut. 10-9 Orlov - basically just on activity.
Round 2 Orlov holds his jab out lazily near Tony's face and tries to rip away to the chest with his right hand. Tony pecks through with a lead right while keeping his arms out in the fray to catch and ricochet Orlov's shots. Orlov starts to just whack him behind and atop the head as Tony ducks and shimmies. Orlov keeps walking him down and throwing his slow punches and somehow this very amateurish pressure is working for him. Tony lets himself get walked to the ropes, leaning away blindly and instinctively without any strategy behind it. Very little footwork from Tony, just getting backed straight up in whatever direction Orlov aims him. Orlov keeps clubbing away with his stubby arms, while the rangier Tony stays tightened up as he gets slapped around. 20-18 EO
Round 3 Orlov backhands his jab and throws his slow ponderous straight right behind it, somehow landing it. Tony is just trying to wrap his arms around Orlov's to neutralize them. Tony is getting caught with right hands between the eyes every time he tries to initiate a clinch or lets one go as Orlov slowly rocks free. Big right hand taken by Tony. Another clinch. Orlov jabs and then simply ducks his head down to let a weak 1-2 from Tony bounce off his ears. Orlov actually lands a sharp 1-2. Tony slaps up a high overhand right, lands it as a rabbit punch...and then another. 30-27 for Orlov, who did NOT impress...Tony just really really really sucks.
