Larry Olubamiwo vs. Jason Gavern, 3 rounds @ heavyweight

 

Round 1

Gavern moves in, burrowing his skull into Olubamiwo's chest as Olubamiwo drops rabbit punches on him. Gavern straightens up with a wild right and BIG CHOPPING LEFT glancing across the jaw of Olubamiwo, dropping him on his ass! Olubamiwo is up and trading uppercuts, pushing Gavern onto the ropes. Gavern mouths off after the bell.

Round 2

Olubamiwo is wading in with uppercuts. They press together and Gavern drills his head into Olubamiwo's chest while throwing roundhouse cleavers into his ribs. Olubamiwo flurries across the back and top of Gavern's head while shoving him into the ropes. Gavern is spun to another set of ropes and caught with a 1-2, stunned. Gavern is sagging backward into the ropes, trying to turn and slip punches but getting hit with straights. Counter right hand by Gavern while backing up as Olubamiwo drops conga-drum pats on his face. Gavern is muscled onto the ropes where they lean into each other to stalemate the last half minute.

Round 3

Olubamiwo is moving forward, flurrying and then wrestling. Gavern jabs him on the very high belt line and hops outside with head bowed. Up-jabs by Gavern circling left a bit clumsily, stumbling into a clinch. Olubamiwo is exhausted, leaning into Gavern and pressing him against the ropes. Wild overhand right by Olubamiwo, missing. Counter looping right by Gavern after jerking back and twisting his waist. Another right by Gavern, just grazing the chin. Olubamiwo flops onto Gavern and rests a moment before stepping out and flicking a limp jab. Rabbit punch by Olubamiwo on the inside, hovering over Gavern as he leans to his right.
