Travis Dickinson vs. Just!n Jones

Round 1

WOAH! Wild start by both, clapping along with long punches. Dickinson is busier but there's not really too much splitting them. They are flogging their way into clinches ever few seconds and getting shooed apart just as quickly. Big 1-2 by Dickinson as Jones tries to lean away. Dickinson alternating between head and body well. It's all Dickinson now in between clinches. Jones is grabbing him low and trying to work soft taps to the back before the breaks.

Round 2

Dickinson keeps his hands flying out straight and high, and continually finds Jones wedging himself between them. Dickinson starts mixing in a few hooks turned down at mid-level. Jones is really making it homely, grabbing a lot and otherwise just flicking a few playful jabs while starting to circle and then changing his mind and moving inside to grab. Dickinson picks Jones up on his toes and whirls him around like a dance partner. Dickinson immediately lands a shot straight to the chin out of a break. A hurt Jones predictably grabs.

Round 3

Straightaway grab by Jones. Dickinson starts working a jab and taking double-hops back to avoid the sticky arms of Jones. Dickinson lands a jab but then has a slow right cross ducked and falls victim to a clinch stunting his momentum. Jones is on him like a magnet, and all Dickinson can manage is to chop him with a quick right hand over the top during the brief breaks. Dickinson is spending some energy trying to control Jones' arms on the inside to quell the little taps on his back. The referee is leaving them in there longer and longer as they work a bit. Jones tries to take the lead with a 1-2 and is rocked with a flush counter jab. Dickinson keeps back at long range and lands a nice 1-2. Jones pops off a hook and grabs. Jones will get through it.

Dodson vs. Edwards

Round 1

Menay tries some of his wild stuff, and Dodson gets right in there and gets a tight hold of him and bangs the body with his right. Dodson presses inside with jabs and right hands up top and has Edwards stunned like a deer in headlights. Right hand slams down behind the ear and a pair of follow-up hooks have Edwards' guard crumbling. Edwards down. Edwards up. Dodson comes at him with short uppercuts and all manner of overhand strike, hitting Edwards from several angles while drilling a hole in his throat with the point of his own crown. Edwards is jabbing from quite far off, and not allowing the distance to close one bit.

Round 2

Dodson starts with a big right hand. Dodson works the left hook up on the cheek as Menay looks to fasten his arms over his back in a tight embrace. Menay is reduced to short slaps on the inside. Menay on the ropes. He fights his way off, backing Dodson all the way across. They get clinched up again, and Dodson goes to work downstairs on the break. Pure gristle, this. BIG lead right from Dodson. Edwards is laid up on the ropes and trying to pull Dodson in by the back of the neck and slap at him, but eats a few flush hooks. Edwards stays pinned for most of the round and occasionally tries to flurry off but sees Dodson duck and counter every attempt.

20-18 Dodson, but his cut looks bad.

 

Round 3

MASSIVE HOOKS from Dodson! Edwards in a heap and manages to rise but THAT IS IT!!!

Finally, a quality KO in a bloody KO tournament.

 

Dodson is unable to continue and will be replaced in the final by Sam Couzens; the second alternate the evening called upon after Jones.

 

FINAL!!

Dickinson still looks pretty fresh. He's got a nice coating of sweat going; he must have kept up a light workout in the dressing room.

 

Round 1

Couzens out strong, brings the jab to Dickinson. Couzens pressures him and pays for it as Dickinson lines up a big right hand and forces a clinch. Couzens gathers himself and hits Dickinson right back with a few short loops. BIG combos inside by Couzens. Dickinson is getting off too, but Couzens is dictating the action. Big hook by a hungry Couzens and Dickinson holds. BIG hook to the body by Couzens. He gets a bit open and Dickinson metes out punishment in the form of an arrow-straight 1-2. Dickinson is patient and lands a big counter right hand as Couzens gets himself going once more. Couzens fights through the cobwebs and slings an excess of leather at Dickinson until they come together and hold through to a break. WILD haymakers from both. BIG uppercut from Dickinson. He pops off a straight combo and then slows down. Couzens comes on with some really nice hooks on the button. Dickinson goes to the body and spears Couzens against the ropes with a big right cross at the bell.

Round 2

Dickinson bangs away, favoring the 1-2 as usual but not exclusive with it. Couzens is pushed into the ropes and lands a defensive uppercut, just as Dickinson starts really tearing out chunks of his body. Couzens tries to get a jab going in the face of Dickinson and quickly abandons, falling in and slapping with hooks to the temple. BIG counter right from Couzens clips and buzzes Dickinson slightly but just a moment later Dickinson lands BIG with a hook and Couzens is DOWN. Couzens pushes himself on up with shaky legs and a glazed-over look and DICKINSON HAS DONE IT.
