First up is Rocky Fielding vs. Patrick Maxwell..

Fielding is 8/15 and Maxwell is 11/8 to win this opening quarterfinal.

 

Enzo's nephew? I haven't seen him. The win over Patrick Mendy is well and good, but the Tiger was very green at the time..

 

Damn, 6" disparity in height!

 

Round 1

Fielding fights tall, trying to snare Maxwell with his jab on the way in. Maxwell tucks his chin to his shoulder and bowls his way into a clinch. Fielding tries to push him off with jabs to the face and hooks to the side/back, while pushing him down and away with his long arms. Maxwell is just stretching his wingspan up high on the way in, trying to feel out for a target. Maxwell is ineffective in the clinches as his shorter arms are just turned down by Fielding's. Good hooks and 1-2's from mid-range by Fielding. Maxwell keeps slugging his way forward absorbing punches but lands a couple of hard hooks of his own. Nothing fancy from Maxwell, just trying to sandblast the defenses of Fielding, who keeps himself long and composed.

Round 2

Maxwell tries to crowd Fielding into the ropes and eats a big counter left hook before leaning up against him. Maxwell keeps wrestling his way in low to Fielding's abdomen, hugging and pushing. NICE uppercut by Fielding on the inside as he takes a step backward. Fielding is throwing good combos before Maxwell can get off. Lunging jab by Maxwell, too wide. Fielding lands a hook and right cross combo unanswered to the face. Another combo drops Maxwell HARD! Maxwell is up but shaky. Maxwell ducks a hook and lurches in to hug. Fielding sidesteps a wild hook from Maxwell after they separate, and Maxwell trots in to clinch again. Fielding bombs him out, RIGHT LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT LEFT - OVER!!!!!!
