Right uppercut drops Ainscough!!! Ruled a slip?? Action paused to remove a foreign object from Joe's eye. Fielding unleashes with hellish punches!!!! Can openers to the body and straight punches, uppercuts, Ainscough in a corner and in a bad way!!!! Ainscough leans back against the turnbuckle and then hurls himself forward to clinch Fielding. Ainscough starts to circle on the outside and throws a low 1-2. Fielding is throwing heavy leather, big left hooks. Ainscough has a bad cut between the eyes, and one over his left. They take a look and it's over!!

Fielding shredded his face with punches and wins by TKO.

 

Fielding never had a stoppage victory in his pro career before tonight; now he's got two. :bbb

"Which would you like to meet in the Final?" (of the two combatants in the other semi-final)

"Uh...any of'em. Any of'em".

"So, you're feeling pretty confident then?"

Webb 1/2 Smyle 6/4

 

Round 1

Webb backs off and jabs sharply. His right hand is a bit slappy, though. Smyle is hunching his shoulders up and keeping his fists in front of his face and looking to pop out jabs to the body while pursuing Webb around the ring. A flurry up high by Smyle just brushes the top of Webb's head. Right to the body by Smyle. Webb hooks from outside while backing up to the ropes. Wide flurries to the body by Webb. Smyle is keeping his punches high, straight and hard. Webb is skirting around the ring and slapping with his jab and right up high and spanking the sides of Smyle. Webb is jabbing and moving backward, and gets in a short hook but nothing on it. Smyle pushes him back with his left forearm turned sideways, and tries to line up a big shot.

Round 2

Smyle doubel jabs right from the bell. Webb backs away and uses some slick lateral movement, jabbing with his left and slapping high with his overhand right. Smyle is just walking through the jabs, trying to land his own as he keeps magnetically attached to Webb. Hook to the body by Smyle. Webb kicks his feet back and unfurls a jab. Right uppercut to the body by Smyle. Double hook is blocked by Webb. Smyle isn't able to stay close enough to throw in combination, resorting to pot shotting for the brief moments Webb is in range. Webb takes a left hook to the body and shells up on the ropes. Webb lands a hook and right hand but doesn't slow Smyle. Webb eats a jab and slaps a right cross away with his own right arm. They trade punches at close range and Webb gets tagged a bit. Webb backs away to the ropes and covers up, then fights his way out with short uppercuts.

Round 3

Smyle applies the pressure and is now bobbing and weaving to avoid the jab. Smyle pokes through with half-force right hands, just trying to measure range. Smyle jabs and hooks at the moving target as Webb keeps turning him. Webb tries to lean in and tie him up but doesn't care for Smyle's inside punching and quickly retreats back to the outside and slaps (literally slaps, open-palm and thumb out) with a big overhand right. Smyle is right atop him and budging him across the ring, working the body. Webb is just protecting his face and trying to explode with some counters on the lean-back. Smyle is right in his chest and heaving but throwing punches. Big right hands from Smyle clap against the shoulder of Webb. Slapping left hook by Webb. Smyle throws a short 1-2 to the face.

30-27 and 29-28 twice to Webb.

 

The 1st was clearly Webb's, but the next two were razor thin. I suppose the shutout made sense if you were giving weight to Webb's defense and countering, but Smyle's aggression & harder and cleaner blows edged both rounds for me. :conf No real complaints.

Fielding will be very tough to beat for Webb, and would have been for Smyle as well.

 

"Rocky, on three days notice you're into the finals. How does it feel?"

"I'll just be boxing, it be what I do, so that's why I'm here."

"What would it be like for you to win it all?"

"It'd be a dream come true. This is what I box for, to get to the top, and fight."

"What did you think of Webb there?"

"Yes, I bufafaffafa watched him then and he's a good, ah, good I'm a better boxer."

"How will you beat him?"

"I just go and just...go and move."

Liverpudlian Michael "Rocky" Fielding vs. Welshman Tobias Webb

 

Round 1

Jab from Fielding. Webb starts trading jabs with him. Right to the body by Webb. Fielding doesn't have the same height advantage here as in previous fights. They're almost level, but Fielding does have longer arms. Webb gets jabbed in the face and circles left. Webb starts to parry the jab. Fielding throws a three punch combo, hook, uppercut, hook. Webb keeps parrying and moving. Fielding dodges some short jabs from outside. Webb clinches. Fielding is taking short steps backward when Webb lets his hands go and avoiding punches easily. Fielding drops his arms and lands some wicked body shots. Webb backs off. Fielding lunges in with a reaching hook to set up a combo on the inside. Fielding settles down and starts jabbing from outside. Webb gets inside and clinches without punching. Fielding thrusts his jab out and sets up some hooks. Webb down off a flush hook/cross combo to the face. Beats the count. Down again from a series of blocked blows. Saved by the bell.
