Round 3

Mendy with a jab, right hand to the body, turns it back around into an uppercut to the chin. Very fluid punching from Mendy now. Cadman with a slower start than last round, getting stifled a bit. Cadman times a nice hook to the cheekbone of Mendy. Mendy gets his wheels turning again. Mendy uppercutting and having his arm grabbed by Cadman, both wrestling around the ring. Cadman misses a big hook and keeps pushing forward into Mendy. Mendy taking backward steps and then quickly ricocheting forward and planting lead uppercuts into Cadman's chin.

David vs. Evans

Round 1

Evans hooking at David, who dodges and counters sharply. Right to the body by David. Evans begins to pump a jab, and David moves his head around it, tapping the body with right hand leads. David throws a pair of 1-2s and winds up tied up with Evans. A pair of David right hands connect as he circles left around Evans. David now widens his circle, flinging long jabs out at Jeffro. Evans tries to duck under and find a way to touch the body but not much doing.

10-9 David

 

Round 2

David making Evans miss a fair bit. David snapping Evans' head back with his long jab. Evans plays possum and invites David in, then gets his gloves flying and a few glancing blows catch David. Evans' jab is beaten out by David's - and David sprawls and sneaks in some follow-up rights to the body now and then. This pattern continues in a relatively uneventful remainder of the round.

Round 3

David dropping anchor a bit, standing in front of Evans and begins to lay down tracer fire with the jab, moving only when necessitated by Evans' loading up on looping rights. Evans walks into a check hook that shakes his head.

Clean sweep for David on my card.

David vs. Mendy

Round 1

Mendy working at the body of David, who moves behind a jab. Mendy lands a couple of nice hooks, keeping up with David well. Mendy ducks a David jab. They tie up, and David carries Mendy around, showing he is the larger and stronger man. Mendy is the one pushing forward though, not recklessly, trying to land something big.

10-9 Mendy

 

Round 2

Mendy bowls David over near the ropes as their bodies come together. David gets up and immediately starts leaning back and moving his feet. Mendy leaping in with hooks. David runs a circle around him with his left hand held out to blind Mendy. Mendy in love with the leaping hook. Adam Smith calls the action "messy and scrappy", which is spot on. Not a lot connecting clean this round.

 

Round 3

Mendy catches David backing up with a couple of hooks. They come together, chin-to-shoulder, and both look tired. Mendy lands another hook after some posturing from both in the middle of the ring. David ties him up again. David flinging his long arms out in rubbery fashion, with Mendy walking under the blows and throwing hooks.

 

Nineteen year old Patrick "The Tiger" Mendy gets the decision, and the Prizefighter Super Middlweight title.

He improved tonight from 5-4 (0) to 8-4 (1).
