Prizefighter is a boxing competition-series that is broadcast on SKY (UK) and it consists of 8 boxers per weight class. It is set up in a mini tournament style.

All contests will consist of three three-minute rounds
The winners will proceed to the two semi-finals and the losers will be eliminated
The semi-final winners meet in the final and the winner of that collects the £25,000

The competitors are a mix of young hopefuls and veterans (no-one 'big-time')

My question to ESB is could this work in America with big names or would contracts and logistics be too much of a hassle? of course the prize would be scaled up accordingly.

Your opinions on the event would be grateful

For anyone that is interested Prizefighter will be on September 12th on SKY and will be the Heavyweight division

They tried this with Thunderbox and various other things before havent they?

Potentially quite dangerous and frankly when Ive seen similiar formats before (in kickboxing mainly) the final can be a let down if both are heaps tired or injured.

It's a valid point, but if it was bigger it could increase intrest in the sport. in reality the maximum they are boxing is 12 rounds
