I know this has been done before, but is it about time something like this was brought back?

Many fans are bored and as dis satisfied as they have been in years. It would certainly liven things up In my opinion. Less mismatches, rapid turnover in fights, different weight competitions. They are always exciting.

People on here keep saying there’s no characters or talent coming through. This is a good way to find some surely, can easily make a star of someone.

I don’t care what level it is and if it’s in some leisure centre somewhere, at least it’d be entertainment for the people paying their subscriptions.

Now, I can’t be arsed thinking of the logistics etc but they could do a BBAS, ‘British boxing average series’ where they don’t fight on the same nights but it gets British level boxers going for a vacant Lonsdale belt on separate dates just like WBSS. I know the ones signed to Hearn earning and with a platform to go far would turn their noses up at this. It would take them too long to get there but **** them, most of them turn there noses up and bypass the lower belts anyway in favour of some inter continental crap which gets them up the rankings or whatever.

It won’t happen but it’s something to think about.

Ultimate boxxer is attempting to do this. But with lower level boxers. I think it would be great for sky to bring it back

Always fun to watch, but I think people have smarted up about the importance of winning such an event.
The format would be great for a fighter like Price though.

No young up and coming fighters would be willing to gamble their 0 for such a competition, some didn't even want to do it for the WBSS.

**** them type off. They don’t have to be young and unbeaten.

Why, they can win money and get a bit of exposure. That’s all that matters to a boxer surely. Like I said not these type who won’t risk their 0 and are up and coming. The fellas that are at that level and probably won’t go further but still have aspirations to.

They should bring it back but they’d need to up the prize to about £100,000.

I agree! Bring it back, throw more money into it and stick it on terrestrial tv.

I've really enjoyed them thus far. Very entertaining. Greaves has matched the fighters well. I hope he gets enough from it to keep it going

I agree. It’s one of those that I almost think he needs to try and put one together the casuals know and try and build off the back of it. Maybe a few older Heavys with a few prospects like Shannon Briggs and Kash Ali after his biting escapades.

Again it boils down to the broadcasters backing the promoters. I’m sure they could stretch to 250k prize pool. Attract some decent young up and coming talent and then some old washed up sort of types who want a final pay day before retirement.
