Bob Arum's primary goal is to make money, as is every boxing promoter. You must hate every major promoter in that case. He saw a niche in the market and capitalised on it. Do you hate Warren for targeting Mitchell's West Ham fans?

I've never bought into that argument with any fighter "taking his fans for a ride". People have free will and usually follow a fighter out of choice and/ or they enjoy the experience.

 

I wasn't trying to imply it you were being anti-Irish or anything, sorry for being overly aggressive. I just thought you were bitter of the fact he has a big following. Minorities be they Irish, Puerto Rican, Mexican or whoever in the U.S. get behind those of their nationality. Obviously the casuals may over rate Duddy but it's not like they are being ripped off. The majority of his fights have been really exciting and brutal. No he isn't top class and in all likelihood has no hope of winning a world title, but he comes to fight and I think people like that about him. It's not like he goes around claiming to be p4p number 1.

Arum has given him the opportunity to fight on the big stage because there is a demand there. You can be sure his fight with Chavez will be more entertaining than Vitali's fight tonight so are those fans really getting taken for a ride? I think the fight will be one of the better PPVs this year for entertainment.
