Round 1

Eggington is rocked hard by huge combos!! Left hooks setting up right crosses!! Evans is chopping down the taller man!! Eggington's brains are getting rattled! Eggington manages to recover and get a jab working. Evans keeps darting in and plucking away with jabs to the face and then standing firm to pivot in with solidly turned over hooks when Eggington fails to make a convincing argument he shouldn't. Evans is now slowing down and picking spots more patiently. Body shots by Evans. Eggington sucks in his gut and slaps out a few counters with his stringy arms, making a bit of contact and giving Evans some pause despite showing little power. Eggington is brawling with him! Evans hops to his left and springs up from the knees, looking for an opening. Right hand lead up top by Evans, and one down low.

Round 2

They trade a bit, mostly jabs, mostly even for the first twenty seconds until Evans gets in another crossbow bolt of a right to the face, sending Eggington reeling. More jabs and slap-around double-ups by Eggington backing up. Evans circles and inclines his jab out toward Eggington's chin. Uppercuts by Eggington trying to keep clear. Eggington ducks in and tries to lean on Evans but gets tapped in the face by a few jabs. Eggington walks Evans to the ropes but gets spun to them. Evans digs the body. Eggington is swinging freely with his chin up in the air, connecting but getting at least partially clipped by Evans' hooks and soaring rights. Eggington is able to outwork him down the stretch, but not quite tip it his way. Nice comeback, though.

The commentators seem to think Eggington did enough to level it up, there.

I really don't know about that.

 

Fair enough. I'm not familiar with them really, but do think rather highly of Thompson.

 

Round 3

Eggington is throwing his long arms wide and turning the knuckles in to the sides of Evans' head. Evans is bearing in straight ahead, gloves at his jowls such that his chin is protected but upper face isn't, and keeping the jab on Eggington to bully him off. Eggington runs out of room and swivels rapidly from side to side with big slaps. Evans keeps jabbing and dropping hammers to the body where he can. Eggington is landing more, but cream puff shots that are barely discouraging Evans.

10-9 Evans, but the closest by far.
