After the revelation that Barry Hearn is having ANOTHER Prizefighter on May 29, it is my sad duty to report that I have just been told that ANOTHER ****ING PRIZEFIGHTER is being arranged for 30th June/1st July... :fire FOR **** SAKE
I'd like to see the viewing figures compared with a normal FFN. If this is pulling the causals in it could be a good thing.
Prizefighter used to have great novelty value but its on too often and is now boring... Instead of showing it 3 times within the space of 2 months, why don't Sky show some delayed international action or have a free week?
I am a big fan of Prizefighter. I bet it is drawing in more casuals with its format. The selection of opponents could be better though.
Sky get almost 3x the viewing figures and they make a fortune from online better. Plus they get 3 hours of TV instead of 2. Also probably cheaper than a usual Friday Fight Night. I think they need to shake up the format a bit. Maybe the final fight is 4 rounds. And there should be a KO bonus. Every Knock down you get £1,000.
Don't think it's legal for fighters to fight the same nights after a loss. Even if it is it's not wise. First idea wasn't bad. I thought one fighter could cover one half of the draw, the other could cover the other half of the draw but I think I like your idea better.
tag team boxing....its on its way...and you lot who think this prizefighter circus **** is good will be to blame for it..
Original format is good and can be very entertaining but it's getting out of hand. The last show was a complete joke. I mean, the posibilty that that Kahut fella could of been drawn against Hide is just ****in ridiculous. They need to have one level of fighter through the draw. Vary it by all means, throw a few internationals in too. But keep it competative for ****s sake.
put this into perspective. How many causual and hardcore fans do you think tuned in due to the absolute coup of getting ****ing herbie hide to appear on it? It swayed me.
I know what your saying, but most on here would of tuned in or at least sky + anyway. Have to admit to turning off after Hide pulled out,but more down to the quality of the previous fights tbh. Just got bored. Not got a problem with big names competing, but it has to be one or the other, you cant mix em.
Lets face it the last prizefighter although entertaining was very poor in terms of quality. Only actual up and coming fighters should be included, not the likes of Herbie Hide, his withdrawal was a black eye on the contest, as if it had been important to him he would have continued. If they can pick the right fighters for it I will continue to watch it, there is a limit though to the number that they can have in a year. It is very entertaining, but the promoters need to be aware that we only have a certain threshold for what we recently saw. The last one was slightly embarassing at times.
i have to admit i am writting with the viewpoint of a fan of the format. I would much rather have a good title matcvh up and good undercard, but any boxing is good for me. Plus get to see some fighters that would otherwise not get a look in on the undercard of FFN. I know where you are coming from though.
