If there is boxing on t.v. i will watch it. I said once that we should not complain when we do get it on t.v. as it takes a back seat to pretty much every other ****ing sport in britain, so i will never complain about boxing on t.v. And if prize fighter get joe wanker public interested again, then hopefully we can generate some interest to a wider audience and get some money behind the ****er and get some big ass mother****ing shows on again. Any one remember naz floating in for his ring walk?? we need **** like that again
I actually quite like prizefighter but I certainly prefer a well matched card and a strong main event for FNF. Prizefighter should be treated and matched as a carnival attraction with gruesome bangers put in the ring to entertain and knock otrher people out. This entertains and it does not place the winner in any kind of false place in British boxing.
I like the format, but think there should be some tinkering to make it better. More Prize Money for KO's, would put it on par with PDC Darts rewarding 9 darters. I would like the final to be a 5 rounder, like contender
Personally I think its garbage and Iv never really enjoyed them. But I know a few people who dont follow boxing that much but always watch Prizefighter which must be a good thing. Do they have to do so many though?
whats the big deal its still boxing on the TV, if ur bored dont watch it... I mean, people complain about not enough boxing on TV, now they are complaining about too much!! Some people are never happy
Pulled this from other thread not hijack that one. So basically, the first got 3 times the viewers, we are none the wise as to how recent shows have done.
Prizefighter w/ Audley - 314,000 viewers Prizefighter w/ Rees - Less than 190,000 viewers Smith vs Quigley - 257,000 viewers Clev vs Branc - 220,000 viewers Clev vs Fry - 118,000 viewers Macklin vs Asikainen - 139,000 viewers (all figures taken from the Boxrec forum)
Prizefighter peaked with the heavyweight installment. Williams/Harrison/Sprott Since then it seems the organisers are trying to get in 'names' instead of good match ups.
it will always be good viewing for me TBH. Doesn't matter how gash the fighters are. Boxing is boxing.
