its coming up again with the welterweights on sky sports here soon...
has this been in u.s. too??
more i think about it the more i dislike it...
having a professional boxer fighting more than one opponent on an evening...even a week...just belittles the sport i think...

as a boxing fan i dont want to see the skill taken away and left with a slugfest...what i mean by that is that a boxer needs to have the opponents style in mind well before a fight to train and have a strategy going into a fight...and box accordingly...trainers and cornermen need to have their heads together on the night...

i dunno...maybe most won't agree...but to me its making to much of a laugh out of a serious sport...

Fair points , but it also gives much needed exposure to all those who enter , and the winner willl get better opportunitys after it.

The shows format also helps attract new fans , which in my opinion is much needed as boxing gets sod all attention form most sports fans , sorrry to rant off subject but i get sick of hearing about about Michael Owens slight lack of pace or the 442 vs 541 formations of football , football dominates british sport , its so dull.
Any show which helps expose the imo the much more exciting sport of boxing is a good thing. I doubt B-hops win even made the british papers this morning.

    right...good points too ^^

but i much prefer the contender format...i see nothing wrong with that format...and it will give the boxers even more exposure i think...as it would have to be a 4 week show...
its the whole thing of having one fighter possibly fighting 3-4 opponents one one night that i'm against...sort of bringing fairground toughman contest into a professional scenario...i dunno, maybe i'm looking at it wrong..

I so too prefer the contender format , and its undoubtably at a much higher professional level then the prizefighter series , prizefighter is a spin off from the success of contender.

I cant aurgue though that fighting 3-4 opponents in a night is a good thing , i dont think it is either , but for the entertainment value to non hardcore fans and exposure to the public for the boxers involved , its worth it to them, most of the guys participating would be lucky to have the boxing world know there name , its like a lottery ticket for them. prizefighter might just un earth a good unproven young pro and improve his career prospects , i hope anyway!

Ted Bami-former European Light-Welterweight champion(not very long ago)

Nigel Wright-former English Light-Welterweight champion, has a draw with Lenny Daws and close defeats to Ajose Olusegun(WBC #3) and Paul McCloskey.

    Ross Minter-former English Welterweight champion

Steve Conway-Beat Mihaly Kotai for the IBO Light-Middleweight title

I'm not sure I'd call those guys glorified bums.
