its a good idea in theory but the am game is not the specticle it used to be back when the ray leonards where packing out 20,000 arenas in montreal, going toe to toe, fighting on the inside without headguards and proper scoring. its change to much, the main problem being the scoring system and not neccessarily the system itself but the way its applied i don't see how putting ams on pro shows gets them more exposure, as the arenas will be empty and tv will have no interest, thats even before you start mentioning the promoters and other obstacles the Ams needs to change rapidly
Yes. I believe it can, the recent Peters Promotion was an excellent example and showcased great amateur talent in Ireland. I would like to see more Pro-Am events, more resources and exposure afforded to grassroots boxing, it will be great for the sport, we cannot just think about the current stars of boxing, but try to inspire the next generation of hopefully marquee names. Who doesn't want to see that?
