Arturo Gatti should know. He has knocked out bouncers and whooped athletes more than 2x his size in pros vs. joes.

id say the untrained meathead. but like most posters above, it really depends. there are many factors to consider here. and i think the difference in size plays a huge part on it.

good friend opf mine is about 5'6 and 10 stone absolutew max in weight. he has knocked out plenty of big guys bareknuckle with one shot. back inm his day he was one of the best amateurs in the country in his division and had a big dig.

naz put plenty of pro heavyweights down as well in sparring.

i think most of you on this thread havent boxed as if yhou had you would know the disparity in ability between a good pro and someone untrained. the pro absolutely destroys them everytime in ring and quite a few times in street.

I always wondered the same thing.

For example, I'm 6 ft 275, done some amateur training and some street fights. I feel pretty confident.

One delusion I have is that I'm just not intimidated by anyone shorter than me, or Asians.

If I was out and Pac Man crossed me, and I didn't recognize him... I'd be getting my ass beat severely... because I would never back down from a guy who looked like Pac Man...or Bruce Lee....or even Juan Manuel Marquez.

I read in the Arturo Gatti news that a guy tried to step into a fight he was having with his wife, and Arturo took it to him in a matter of seconds. The quote was something like "He hit me five or six times before I knew what was going on."

So, do me a favor. If you ever see me in a bar running my mouth to the P4P champ of the world, pull me aside and let me know!

Meathead has a pretty darn good chance if he has any idea what he is doing..

I'm not talking about some fat ass though, some guy who is in OK shape, relatively cordinated, and can throw a punch does have a good shot.

Think about it, its entirely possible that the big guy walks through a punch grabs the featherweight and proceeds to beat the **** out of him.

If the big guy takes you down your dead. If hes forced to be within boxing rules in a ring he probably dont do jack. What would the boxers defence be against a take down. Ive boxed and its only in a boxing ring where this fight would favour the boxer.

Wanted to add I am talking about a fight OUTSIDE the ring.

Its equally possible that the big guy lumbers toward him, little guy quickly side steps and lands a perfect left hook that the big guy never sees coming.

Big guy hits the dirt and pisses himself.

Yeah it is for sure. I just think a lot of people are being biased because obviously this is a boxing website. But you're right there is a equally good chance this happens as well.

'Meat head' is someone who is not in OK shape but would be a very muscular guy and a total arse.
