Can you do well in the amateurs with a pro style?

could be done but very unlikely. The pro style is more about hurting your opponenet and a blend of quality shots with quantity (obviously one good punch wont win you a round when youve been hit 20 or so times) wheres as amature is just points. As well having a style that is suited for winning rounds instead of points wouldnt be too smart. In the pro's you can scrape through most rounds and win them and lose 1 round convincitly and still win the fight. But in the amatures if you win the first 2 rounds by 2 points each but lose the third one by 5 points you've lost the fight.
    Hope i made sence

Pros and ams are two different sports.

Could you do well in cricket with a baseball style? ...maybe.

my sparring partners tell me i have more of a pro style, and my coach wants me to switch it up. I'd rather trade shots as long as i get the more powerful ones in rather than move in and out like he wants me to. its good cos u don't get hurt as much but not as fun!
