Probably one of the most ridiculous statements ever.

Mayweather was not given any "problems" by Burton.

He outboxed him on the inside, in what was a pretty entertaining bout, and took a shot or two which caused him to bleed.

Mayweather adapts to his opponents - He chose to take the fight to Burton and overwhelmed him with his handspeed and combinations.

He did encounter a few problems in his next matchup though!

Still, seems to strange to read that about him, an over eager brawler with no defense and a suspect chin?

Corrales was not p4p before Floyd..that is kind of crazy...Floyd was his first big name..He was top 130 contender though and was highly regarded as a menace and a dangerous opponent. The freitas fight showed me his metal and the Casamayor fight the one he lost.

What even made the statement even more ridiculous is the fact that he used the term "glaring weakness" in describing Floyd'd D. :-(

Speak for yourself on the 'didnt know who mayweather was" line:good

i've known of floyd from the amateur/olympic days and watched his entire PRO career transgress. As for when he fought Augustus?? there was another LW Champ making him an offer and he refused and went back down to 130. I posted video of that titlelist EXPOSING Floyd's D far better than Augustus did and that took place almost a year PRIOR:yep

The author of that article either A: Knew nothing of boxing, B: Hates Floyd more than ANYONE, or C: Is a blind, incompetent, ****:good

I'm one of floyd's most staunch critics but you cant let feelings cloud the rationality of you're judgement:nono

It's truth, that you think is nonsense. The amazing part is floyd ducked such an inferior opponent:lol:

I brought it up to illustrate that not "all the posters didnt know who Floyd was"!! Clearly, some did:good

Maybe if Spadafora was more interested in being a fighter instead of a criminal, they could've fought eacth other. If I remember correctly, their fight at 140 was nixed because no one would sanction the fight due to Spadafora's criminal activity.

C'mon man stop talking **** you dont really know about or WANT TO!! If you ever read the post a long with the vid, you should know better.

The fight was at 35, NOT 40, and being criminal?? You mean like the 5 incidences of domestic abuse that Floyd had BEFORE Spadafora's unfortunate incident with one of the most psycho, twisted, skanks of all time?? Hmmmmmmmmm???

The fight did fall through because Spadafora lost his license in the summer of 2003, but that was 3 years after he whipped Floyd in the gym. They made an offer at PBf as soon as he fought at 35 against Augustus in 2000.

Look, if you really wanna keep banging this issue, go back to the thread and bring it up THERE. I didnt mention the name because all of this wasnt involved IN THE POINT I WAS MAKING!! Which was?? Many knew about Floyd. For someone to say "we didnt know who floyd was" in a porous and pathetic defense of the writer's article?? Its ****ing absurd:good

BTW, Why are you attacking me when I'm STICKING UP FOR PBF in this case?? Jesus man, are you part pirannah??
