Shelestyuk is starting to get bullied as Maestre lands in multiples on the body and then chases him into the ropes with lassos up top. Shelestyuk is dancing around pawing the right jab woodenly, and then either getting trapped on the ropes or in the corner, or tying up after lobbing a weak underhanded left. Maestre is using lots of fluid sinuous upper body movement while stalking, and is able to disrupt Shelestyuk's rhythm easily with his abrupt shots from different angles.

What on earth is Taras' game plan? Hope that Gabe trips over his own shoelaces and faceplants into a self-kayo?

He's showing all the fire and determination of Mikaël Zewski in his usual light sparring exhibitions versus cab drivers...

 

Wouldn't hold your breath...he's 19-0 (11) but not even as much of a puncher as that makes it seem. Not to mention that Maestre looks incredibly comfortable in there...although Shelestyuk did finally get some consecutive shots on his kisser in the 5th.

Maestre headhunting in short bursts, getting clipped with left crosses as Shelestyuk begins to find his range and timing within the parameters of fairly predictable catch-and-shoot 1-2s (using the right jab to smack down or intercept Maestre's shots and then drilling the left).
